i had a friend who donated plasma just yesterday. he's a hardcore stoner and he threw in his plasma money with another friend of mine and bought a half....this guy smokes out. they obviously dont test people here for cheeba. then again.....everyone smokes bud here. i dunno, but the rates go from like $25 your first time to $35 your second time to up to $45 (so i've heard...).
I did it through college. They only tested for diseases when I did it. Had they tested for THC, I wouldn't have been able to donate. I lived on MaryJane. It was weed, water, then food. I remember the urinalysis but had it really been a problem they wouldn't have taken me. I was always high. There was no way I could have been clean. They would check and make sure I didn't have needle marks because if you shot up you couldn't do it. They also wouldn't take anyone if they had recent piercings or tattoos. It takes about two hours but most places have tv's to watch. I use to study while doing it. They make you squeeze a ball with the hand of the arm that the needle is in and most of the people who do it to you could give a rats ass if you have a needle phobia. I have tiny veins (they'd use a smaller gauge needle on me than they did on people with normal veins) and after the 2nd stick they'd go find someone else to stick me since they can only stick you three times. I'd cuss some of them...one dude chased my vein around with the needle trying to stick it and when I left, my arm was black and blue and hurt like hell. They actually had to use the other arm on the 3rd stick since he roughed me up so bad. But...it helps people and puts cash in your pocket, at the same time. So, it's not that bad.
the only time it takes a long time is when you 1st go since they have to do all the tests etc on you to make sure you're capable of donating, then after that its about 45 mins each donation.
lol... I'm too high.. I just wrote a long ass post on how I would never let someone take blood from under my fingernails.lol... It just gave me chills thinnking about that. then I realized it was fingertips. And I look down at my hand. sure enough, I said that wouldn't be too bad. and yet there still shines hope for that pothead in need of a buck. To go lose it to some indian, on their reservation, in their casino. damn, I'm high..lol
I would imagine the drugs they test for are the needle variety. Like if you test positive for heroin or meth, they'd refuse you. They most likely don't care if you smoke pot because it's essentially harmless. They just don't want some junkie with a needle highway running up and down his arm coming in and donating.
