I don't think this man should have been fined or suspended at all. He is being condemned for having an opinion, if we condemn him we must condemn every single other person in America that has said anything that can be slightly perceived as racist, i.e. Charles Barkley "This is why I hate white people." I'm just saying there's a double standard. There's still racism rampant in every facet of the word. Companies having to have a certain amount of African American workers. Same for colleges. Or they get sued. He's allowed an opinion, this is America, right? Equal rights for all and what not. He didn't discriminate against African Americans, he didn't stop selling tickets to them. He hasn't had any documented problems with Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, Blake Griffin, Darren Collison, etc. So what are we banning and fining him for? An opinion voiced in a private phone call that his girlfriend recorded without his knowledge or consent? I have lost a lot of respect for people I used to be very fond of based on their stance on this. For them to believe that it was the right thing to do to ban him and fine him based on his abhorrently "racist" comments just appalls me...

You have the right to your opinion. When your opinion is that "I don't want black people at my games", when you're the owner of a team of African Americans who make you money (so essentially white master chilling on the plantation), you are susceptible to other people's opinions. Those who advocate racial tolerance immediately said "fuck off", and that is why he is being fined/banned/scrutinized. The will of the people, both in the league, and around the world. It's not like this man was stripped of his rights. He flexed his rights, and the majority flexed back. So don't feel appalled... just slow to the whole being a decent person movement.

Well IMO owning an NBA team, is about the closest he can get to literally owning 40-80 people.. Majority being black... Of course he's gonna have some racist opinions... The NBA literally has some different rules/laws for the association. When he bought the team, he agreed to several things but most importantly (in the nba's eye) to uphold the nba's positive reputation. He broke his contract. I do agree though, I don't know why anyone is still offended. The term "nigger" was used to insult and degrade slaves, so when a black guy is offended by it, I just see a pissy pussy person.
