Hi all. Georgia resident here. I'm moving out in a week and decided that my only agenda would be to move somewhere that I could grow my own weed. I'm thinking D.C. but I don't care much as long as I get to grow legally. Anyways I had a hypothetical situation type question: How much would one expect to yield with 10 plants (indica dominant strain) 400watt hps 2x4 flood/drain (x10) 1 gallon planters mylar blah, blah, clay pellets, etc. And just generally stable nutes. I'm not sure what I would use. Vegging for 10 days and then putting them into flowering? Worthwhile? Open to suggestions.
24 hr light schedule for veg. This would be for my own personal use and a surplus for those really bad days.
you'll get a better yield with just 4 plants under a 400W light, using a screen to SCROG. Even if you don't use a screen, 4 plants in 5 gallon buckets will yield you much more than trying a standard SOG in such a small area. As weird as it sounds.... more often than not, less plants equal more yield.
hmm ok So if I only grow 4, I could exect to generate enough weed to smoke maybe 4-10 joints a day everyday? I don't consume that much, just throwing numbers out there.
i dont know? maybe you roll bigger joints than i do? With a 400 W light and 4 plants you shouldn't have a problem getting at least 1 oz per plant. Depending on genetics that could take anywhere from 8-12 weeks after you start to flower them. so from seed to finish you need a good 3-4 months.
Thanks for the advice. You have been very helpful. Also I am looking for a room for rent in the D.C. area maybe. LOL
Honestly, I haven't considered CO2. It doesn't seem necessary, but I am open to anything that safely speeds up the process.
Well CO2 isn't going to make your strain finish faster, but it will speed up your VEG and you would yield more. Problems with CO2 is, you then need a CO2 controller set to keep the room at 1500ppm. However with CO2 you can run higher temps, like 85f. It's all about how much you want to invest, generally the more you do, the higher the ROI.
Well the only question to ask is: How much more would one expect to yield? (5%, 10%, 20%, . . .) That would determine whether or not I would invest in it. edit* sorry, i'm "tired" that was a dumb sentence.
I am not sure if there is a defined percentage of increase. However everyone who has used CO2 is yielding a nice amount. I would check out this setup. Rumple's Single Plant Grow
Yes it is all true. Good luck, I will be running CO2 in my sealed rooms but not in my tent as I exhaust the heat. Glad I could help.
