Hey guys, I'm just wondering if this 42 watt cfl can be used in a normal fixture or if it needs a ballast or somethin. Thanks. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5684723
alright cool. Im just checking because I heard somewhere that for the higher wattage you need a ballast. So even if the CFL was a 50 or 60 watt, a ballast wouldnt be needed?
Only CFL's that need a ballast are the 125w+ (not equiv) with a mogul base and the ballast is housed in the fixture used to accomodate that bulb. I have heard of some CFLs over 200w that do require a external ballast though.
