Does porn cause impotence..true?

Discussion in 'Sex, Love & Relationships' started by TenMac, Dec 28, 2009.

  1. To make this more precise, I mean regular masturbation in the absence of sex for an extended period. If a guy is single for a while the only thing he really indulges in sex-wise is porn. Could this regular indulgence lead to impotence when eventually one finds a date or a fuck?

No. How is masturbation going to prevent you from being able to get a... errr, erection?

Physically speaking, it makes no sense for masturbation to inhibit your ability to achieve + maintain ... hardness.

Masturbation is healthy and normal. They should mention that in sex ed.

..just, you know, don't over do it.

    edit:

"he said hardness, heh heh heh.."

  3. No not total impotence but like performance in bed. Porn and actual sex is a lot different. Generally speaking, they both turn you on in different ways so when your used to regular porn without having physical contact for a while, your performance obviously shows.

This is all generally speaking btw. The more you watch porn the less your timing in bed.

  4. No.

If anything it opens up your imagination and gives you creative ideas? I fail to see how watching something reguraly will make you bad at the activity itself..

Regular mastabation is healthy. It also enables one to demonstrate self control as you hold off blowing your load straight up, which only increases your sexual performance..

  5. beats me lol... someone should test the theory. Subscribe to a site and wack it everyday for like a week or two..then go to a club or wherever one might meet loose women and snag you one and see what happens...oh wait you need a control first ok get laid first then start the experiment and see if your time changes.

Also what works for me is ill let my first load go pretty quick like five minutes tops but that dont mean im done i dive right back in and im good for another thirty or so you know take a cig,a toke, maybe a lil something to drink and then bam back at it all nighter style....sorry if this all sounds dumb lol im STONED.

Well "impotence" means gettin'/maintain' an erection - erectile dysfunction. Not performance...but I digress, it's just words.

So are you talking about just masturbation or watching porn &... masturbating?

Some would say that masturbation can be beneficial to one's sex performance because proper...masturbation... can lead one to better control of when one... orgasms. Practice...

Or that too much porn can make real life sex less interesting in comparison. Sort of.
But porn doesn't have to be misused, of course.

Masturbation, when not over done, is healthy for men and women.

Studies have suggested there are numerous benefits for women as well as men. Masturbation can aid in relieving chronic back pain, it can encourage an increase of blood flow to the... region, it can assist in reducing some symptoms of the menstrual cycle, and other good things to promote health.

    stop laughing, dammit!

  7. Absurd. Regular masturbation is biologically healthy behavior. Gets the heart rate up, releases endorphins and all that biological bullshit.

Besides "porn" doesn't cause anything. Just because you see porn doesn't mean you automatically start rubbing one out... Does masturbation lead to impotence in men? Absolutely not, quite the opposite. Having sex on a regular basis is extremely healthy. Masturbation is just a substitute for sex. Even people who have regular sex still masturbate.... maybe not as often as people who aren't getting laid :)

I'd say biggest negative that porn has the possibility to lead to... is a mental conditioning to imitate what we see in porn. Obviously most people don't imitate porn but if you watch too much of it you might have a distorted view of how sex between a couple should be. I doubt that happens very often though.

Also, porn has many different degrees. Theres a whole range from just people having sex to really crazy shit that doesn't appeal to 99 percent of the population. All this falls under the broad category of "porn".

  8. If you over use it, it can cause sexual problems, but I wouldn't say impotence. Guys that are addicted to porn are more likely to have preformance problems in bed, yes.

  9. lol, this is funny, there is no way that works, whacking it is actually healthy (in moderation ofcourse).

on a side note, does anyone else sometimes thinkg of whacking off like weed? I intentionally don't whack off sometimes for a couple days in a row and to convince myself i tell myself it's a t-break, and it will feel so much better if i wait for a lil while

  10. Yeah, but if your addicted to porn you probably can't get laid anyway right? Isn't that what LED to the addiction? heheh

  11. This.

  12. So, what makes a guy addicted to porn? Id be interested.

If you think its when a guy whacks of to porn every single day, most of you smoke weed every single day, and im very sure you would flame someone who claims your addicted to weed.

  13. Exactly. What is "addicted"? Most certainly there are people out there that watch so much porn that it affects them negatively - but too much of ANYTHING is usually bad.

  14. If you watch too much it can desensitize you to real life. Not sure about impotence though.

  15. porn addicting isn't when you whack off to it every day, its when you whack off to it multiple times a day, or even watch it without jackin' it just for entertainment. porn "addicts" watch porn for hours at a time without touching themselves once.

As for the porn or masterbation making you bad in bed, don't worry about it. When i got out of a relationship i went a 2 months without sex, and masterbated probably every day. But when i had sex again i was just as good as before;)
