Does PH affect your Flush?

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by mixedmindz, Feb 2, 2011.

  1. Hi,
I'm just now switching to flush for my first harvest.

My question is how much does the PH affect the plant during flush.

Part of me thinks, keep it at 5.8 (hydro).

But, I wonder if adjusting it over a day or two would help as a range of PH may cause different chemicals to be expelled. (they're absorbed at different PH levels)

My untreated tap water is ~PH7.0

    So any input welcome.
    thanks

  2. I like this question, I was wondering the same thing. If the point of flushing is to stop absorbing nutes it would seem 7 would be fine for flushing. Anyone?

  3. as long as your not above 7.0 your fine. It doesnt have to stay at the same as when running because at that tine you need it at a certain ph to uptake the nutes right. when your flushing your not giving nutes so ph really doesnt matter it will like to goto its perfect spot which is 7.0

  4. Im subbed and curious

  5. I'm only speaking from personal experience because I have asked this question before. I was told that it PROBABLY doesn't matter because you want your plant to feed off of itself the final 1.5 to 2 weeks. What happened when I stopped caring was the plant hermied and I wound up with some seeds. No biggy but if I could of went back in time and did it all over again I think I would of just ph'ed the water. You have been doing it up to this point so you might as well finish the job. That will be the way I will see it from now on.
    Let's see some pics. :smoke:

  6. Thanks for the replies.

I was kind of thinking the a swing in PH might make different elements soluble at different ranges.

but then again I opted for "exploring technology" instead of chemistry or biology.

Here is a link to my most recent pics (and a vid of my tichomes)

I'm kind of bugging on the timing here.
(yeah it should be done in 2 weeks)

this is my first time. I hope I'm not jumping the gun.

  7. I was just watching Green House's Super Silver Haze video.
Franco mentions that they drop the PH to 5.5 when they flush to help wash out built up salts.
    (Running @ 5.9-6.0 before flush)

maybe there is something to it?
They certainly have an edge in R&D.
