Does marijuana oil expire?

Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by CloudNueve, Mar 4, 2011.

  1. I made oil three months ago. it was stored in a water bottle about 1/10th full. Would this be safe to use if most of the particles left after straining had sunk to the bottom?

    FYI: we did anyway. haha

  2. It should be fine, I've never kept mine longer than 2 weeks, but it should be okay.. I would have not kept it in a plastic bottle... glass jar would be much safer IMO

  3. Actually, knowing that most people severely under-process their herb when making canna oil, out of fear of destroying it I assume, by allowing it to sit for several months may have in fact made it a bit more powerful than it was before.

If stored at room temperature though that's about the extent I'd keep a liquid oil though, a few months, half a year or so with a solid oil (and you can get away with a few years in the freezer, without noticeable loss of potency).
