Does it matter if the end of the slide is submerged or not in a bong?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Jflutts, Jun 15, 2009.

  1. im stumped :confused::confused:

  2. the slide sits in the downstem

    the end of the downstem is submerged in water

  3. lolwut?

    the end of the slide must be in the water, but the water level should not be high enough to come out of the hole made for the slide to go through.
    when in doubt, just remember the weed should never get wet, but the smoke needs to pull through the water.

  4. hang on - isn't the slide also called the bowl?

  5. The title made me lol.
    Ok the stem must ALWAYS be submerged since without it it would be like smoking from a pipe since it isnt going through the water filtration
    The bowl is where you put the bud
    The stem is the straight tube
    Some are sliders (It will have 2 stem looking things but only one will be connected to the bowl, one is smaller so it can fit onto the bigger one and let the air flow in better than by a carb) and some have carbs (little hole your supposed to hold with your finger while taking the hit and release once the bong is milked)

  6. Take out the bowl(the 'slide' where you put your weed) and put that aside, now there should still be a stem sticking out at a diagonal angle towards the floor of the inside of the bong, the water must go over the end of teh hole in the stem so taht the smoke is filtered through the water where it bubbles if you suck in.
    It was a stupid question but i hope this answers it.
