does heat harm qwiso hash

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Chiquitagrower, Nov 4, 2012.

  1. Just a quick question for you ISOheads. After i make my qwiso hash and its in the pyrex pan, should I heat it to speed up evaporation? I am of course talking about the double boiler method as it seems to be the best, and least dangerous method. Anybody know for sure if heat harms qwiso?

  2. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh fucked if I know :smoking:

  3. Well Its a good time to bump this I guess cause I still wanna know... I just did my first QWISO run, it came out real nice, however I used heat (Put it over boiling water). So im wondering if I damaged it or not?

  4. Heat will help it evaporate a lot faster and will not degrade your qwiso at all
as long as its not to high of a temperature. Visit the "ISOhead thread" those blades know what they are talking about.

A really high temperature will cause a loss of terpens (flavor) you should get a hot plate so you know what temperature you are purging at.

Anywhere from 100-140 degrees is fine.

  5. Done it before when there wasn't enough time to wait. It sure does speed up the process and always leaves a nice end product. Maybe it does affect quality but if you're short on time it sure as hell is an efficient way to do things!

Make sure you have good ventilation as you don't want to be inhaling iso fumes. If you see the plate starts to smoke let it cool/lower your temperature.

  6. So I should be Okay... but Idk maybe heating has its own benefits... other peoples runs I saw came out powdery, while I got some nice ass oil :D

  7. Glad to hear your qwiso is safe :hello:

Heating your qwiso has a lot of benefits it purges a lot faster and also you can control the consistency of your product. Like you said some people got "powdery" kief-like qwiso while you got a more oily product.

Over time you'll keep perfecting your method until you find one that works best for you. happy smoking bro :smoking:

  8. You can if you want, it's not a big deal.
