Sup GC, There's a ferret shelter near where I live run by this couple out of their home and I'm gonna adopt a couple of them. They all need homes bad and since my beloved Possum Puss was eaten by coyotes in November last year, I think it's about time to take on another pet. This won't be my first experience with ferrets, but I've never seen mention of them on GC. Anyway, any of you fine gentlemen/ladies have a ferret of your own?
I used to have one. Their pretty crazy little bastards. I would get another one but my wife tells me she doesn't like them.
Haha yeah that seems to be the case. Most people I've talked to either love them or hate them. Very little middle ground
Yeah, I think a lot of it has to do with the way the smell. I prefer it over litter box smell any day though.
Yeah it's a shame too. I think the smell is pretty cool haha. I mean weed and ferrets make for such an "earthy" smell.
When I was a kid I had one, but my parents hated the smell and wouldn't let me keep it in my room. He was so much fun though, oh how much I miss Fabio the ferret.
Ferrets are awsome. Just to start off. They can get crazy at times (and like to shit in corners) but are worth it. Dont name your ferret high. They display so many traits when you first get them they gain many names.
That sucks Shasta. Lol mine are gonna get named Jin and Mugen. It's two males, naturally, but they were raised together so I don't wanna seperate them. Also, what's the deal with the smell? I've had plenty of good friends with ferrets and they never really smelled. I mean you could smell them when you were within a foot of the cage but that was it. The odor is completely controlable with proper cage maintenance, is it not?
I have a ferret. As long as you clean their cage they don't smell. I put this in my ferrets water and I cant even really smell his cage at all. As for the smell of the ferret itself, they do have a scent but it's not bad, and if you wash them too much they actually smell more.
