Does cutting fan leaves hurt plant .

  1. Hey this is my first grow and I was just wondering if cutting of the main fan leaves effects the plant at all . My 4 girls are about 3 1/2 weeks into flowering and the buds are coming along nicely , I just added a couple of cfl's at the bottom of the plants and I had to trim a few fan leaves to let light in , will it slow growth at all( like the plant devotes more energy into healing the damage),or is it even bad at all? thanks for any help .

  2. im pretty much a noob as well, but during my first grow i trimmed them a few times with no problems (also under CFLs). If im thinking correctly, i think it may even benifit in some ways by having the plant put the nutrients towards the buds and not throughout the leaves. of course youll have to have some though for photosynthesis :D

  3. You can cut a few here and there for better light pennitration but don't go trim happy that would proably hurt the plant more than do it good. especially in flower since the plant could use the energy from the fan leaves for bud production.

  4. DONT TOUCH!!!! leave your fan leaves my man! unless the leaf is more that 50% dead, leave it. Or if it is covering a huge bud cut it. But besides that LEAVE THE LEAF. fan leaves hold mad nutrients for your plant, dont be a fool and chop that all off!!!!!!!!!

  5. Thanks for the help everybody , I had already trimmed 1 leaf off of 3 plants and 2 off of 1 plant , hopefully that won't hurt anything , oh well I guess , the damage is already done , thanks again .
