Hey everyone, I am on my first grow, and I am about to enter into my seventh week of flowering. I have 5-White Widows, 5-Outlaw's, 1-Afghan Kush Special, and 1-Chemdawg. 600w HPS with Advanced organic nutes. Every day I rotate my plants for optimal light distribution. Everything is going very well, my White Widow cola's are incredibly fat and stunning to look at. See pic. Hard to believe they are still 2-4 weeks out! I just want to know everyone's experience on my question because the canopy on my grow room is quite dense, and yet there are still alot of buds two thirds of the way up the plant. They are not as big, and probably not as dense, but will they be just as potent as the upper third buds? I need to know the answer to this question because if they are not as potent, I will have to keep the more potent buds separate from the lesser, or maybe just round up all the less potent buds and make hash. Awesome grow...looks great so far. Keep up whatever your doing. As to your question.... Thats very common. The top always matures faster than the bottom. People that train their plants take advantage of this. Its really up to you whatt you do. You can cut the top off and let the bottom go for a bit longer or just harvest all at once and make hash with the popcorn. Personally i harvest at once just because i dont really have the nerves to cut my precious plant in half. I do see great success though from cutting the top half and letting the rest mature. Also i reason i cut at once is the trichomes. The tops will all be mature body high and the rest head high. Two types of high from one strain.
Thanks Cody. Yeah, I'll probably cut all at once and make hash from the lower buds just to make life easier. Then I'll have some great "head-high" hash along with the combo head/body high buds from the tops. Check in tomorrow and I'll have updated pictures from week seven. My grow room is insane!
Thanks my friend I vegged for about 3 weeks. I topped, super-cropped, and perform LST. Right now my light is as high as it will go and my Outlaw strain plants are taller than me. Outlaw are Sativa so they have at least a month to go. As for the other strains, the cola's are really starting to fatten up nicely and I should expect harvests in week eight, nine, and ten respectively. It will be interesting to see how much weed I get. My goal was a pound, and right now I think that is a real possibility. I am simply amazed at the size of the White Widow cola's and cannot believe that I am the one who is growing them! And, they still have a couple more weeks at least Check back tomorrow and see my updated pictures from week week seven of flowering.
Great job on the grow. You will be pleasantly surprised those last few weeks when those buds just explode. Again good job
