  1. Just wondering if some dead roots from previous grows would cause an issue or not? Anyone do this?

  4. Lots of growers re-use their medium. Like Mick though, I use new each grow.

  5. Not anymore, as in never again. I added used coco to my organic soil and when soil tested, the K levels were off the chart. I even had K toxicity on outdoor non cannabis plants it was used on.. So I abandoned the coco and grew in just the perlite, thinking I could reuse it. But by the end of the grow it was just roots and white powder and sludge. The only truly reusable medium I have hound is hydroton. I boil it in distilled water and vinegar. If resusability is your main concern, explore inert mediums, or water. So far, water is the only thing in my grow that has not somehow been affected by covid. Or the idiots that control covid.

  7. Boom , winner.

With the right enzyme, those dead roots turn into organic fertilizer for your plants.

As talkative alluded too, coco retains a good amount of K. Reused coco has good amounts so if you don’t feed at high levels, this is a perfect opportunity to reuse your coco.

Don’t have to flush all those good bennies out the window either. Established networks of mycos and all the good stuff go back to square 1.

Unless you just want to buy new coco to spend money. That’s always an option too.
