Does anybody else feel like the system run by the people in power is too big and too far reaching for any of us to do anything about anything? I just feel like the power structure we have in the US and the people running it have made it so that there is only one 'right' way to live. i feel insignificant, like i only exist to be a producing, tax paying slave. is there a way to be free? or are my willing dependences on electricity and indoor plumbing the terms of my surrender?
i think i want to start a secessionist republic so we can all live apart from our 'handlers' the way people were meant to live. anybody wanna help?
You can support Ron Paul for 2012 Seriously though, a lot of Americans are beginning to feel this way, and I think Ron Paul is the only politician who understands that.
but then the next group of money holders will slowly become more "narrow minded" to protect their wealth. you really think sitting back and waiting for things to change is going to accomplish shit? you are already trapped.
I don't feel that way. But if you ask a Ron Paul supporter, I'm just a mindless sheep of the Illuminati, so what do I know?
Perhaps you'll feel differently when you find yourself struggling to pay for gas and food, due to massive inflation. Or when you get drafted, due to out of control wars that not even the military industrial complex can fight on its own. Or when taxes are increased enough so that the masses are forced to live off of welfare, just to be able to pay the heavy taxes. Who knows which will come first, or if they'll even change the way you think. I don't think you're a mindless sheep, you're just confused
None of those circumstances require a political system that we cannot change, much less an organized group of powerful individuals that rule the world behind closed doors.
Who would declare the wars and muster the army? Who would demand that you fork over your earnings to provide for someone else?
the truth is that in america the ppl are no longer in control. instead a select few make all these major decisions for us and decide how we live. we are all now slaves to the government. its sad but true wake up folks...we need to change this while we still can...if we still can.
ron paul won't ever be president, he's the hipster candidate. i think what we should all do is move to the same small town and one of us runs for mayor, the rest run for city council. then we could make federal agents operating within city limits a crime punishable by catapult.
I think Obama's a lot more a hipster than RP is. I guess I don't know what a hipster is As to whether or not he'll be president, I guess that depends on how much those in power can bend things, especially the media. If grassroots can accomplish anything, he will at least be a major contender. I like your idea though.
The people we elect have those powers clearly outlined in the Constitution. So, to answer your question; the federal government.
Yes...and unless the federal government is run by people who can be trusted and have the best intentions for the nation, the things I mentioned before will happen. (Ben Bernanke and the federal reserve?)
Sure. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the government is this massively efficient conglomeration of people with only my best intentions in mind. But at the same time, I don't think it's a group of powerful individuals trying to control every aspect of my life and make me their slave. To me, the government is a powerful entity of individuals that have the power to do a lot of good, but are limited by ideological differences and the political system in America.
