does a bong actually get you higher?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by mikey77, Oct 9, 2010.

  1. hit for hit will a bong get you "higher" than a joint, pipe, or blunt?

  2. You can take bigger hits with a bong so yes, probably.

  3. Yes.

Yea, what the other guy said. You take more in one hit, so you get higher faster. but its not going to work miracles. If you smoked .5 gram of decent mids from a bong, and .5 from a joint, you're not going to magically be crazy super baked like it was dank just because it was out of a bong.

I just find it hard to believe that a bong imparts potency simply because the smoke is going through water. If it was that easy no one would buy dank and just smoke mids from a bong because it "gets you higher

  5. Smoke a bong and you'll understand.

  6. yes

  7. alright thanks for the answers all. I was also interested if that the water took out any thc but from what I've heard it's not water soluble. Is it 100 percent not soluble? Or just a samll % soluble

Someone needs to give a logical reason here as to why a bong should get you any higher than anything else. Vapes, I understand. They are different. If you smoked a joint alone and just let the cherry burn freely, then you're wasting weed and the high could be affected. But exactly the same weed and exactly the same amount out of a spoon and a bong should get you an equal high. It just seems logical to me.

If I'm missing something, please tell me.

  9. Here, let me further elaborate...

    Fuck Yes.

    /fucking-end thread

  10. When was the last time you tapped a .3 or even a .5 in a SINGLE HIT off a joint, blunt, pipe, or vape?

That's kind of the point with a bong and a set of large lungs. "Pound for pound", you get more out of a bong hit than you do just about anything else.

  11. see I think the same way. I can take very large hits out of a spoon. I can smoke half a bowl in one hit easy. I don't see why bongs get you higher. Everytime I smoke a bong I feel more light headed cuz of the holding your breath and getting less oxygen from taking a bong rip. That's just me though. Yeah so a logical explanation would be good aside from the "bigger hits"

  12. A small amount of cannabinoids will be depleted but it's pretty insignificant.

  13. you'll have to excuse me. I'm not trying to argue or be a dick/troll. I'm just trying to understand. I'm still pretty much a noob.

Bongs get you higher because you smoke more at once? But even then, why should you be "higher" from a big bong hit.?

    Same amount from a pipe

    Same amount from bong

You'll be higher from the bong hit because all the THC and whatnot was contained in one hit?

  14. what's funny is that I feel that the more smoke you inhale the longer it takes to absorb all that thc so therefore you have to hold in the hits longer. With a big hit from a bong would your lungs become saturated and cant absorb all of the thc so you actually waste thc when you don't hold the hits for very long?

  15. "There seems to be some confusion about joints versus bongs in terms of efficiency. Put simply, these studies conclude that given the same volume of smoke, a joint will have more THC in it than a bong due to the fact that none is lost in the bowl, stem, water, and pipe, but that a bong saves you money due to the fact that it does not lose nearly as much smoke in the sidestream. If you're worried about money more than health, use a bong. If your worried about health more than money, use a joint. And if you're smart, use a vaporizer."

See this thread: alright makes sense because I actually get higher from jays or blunts then a bong ha

  17. Think of your high as a hill. Smoking a joint is like walking up the hill. Smoking a pipe is like jogging up the hill. Smoking a bong is like teleporting up the hill.

  18. Damn. Gotta get me a bong

    :bongin:

  19. I would just make a gravity bong, they fuck you up good, weed efficient, and easy to make

  20. I don't understand how it's more healthy to hit a joint compared to hitting a bong, is there an actual correlation between smoking bongs and health or you just assuming something to do with lung capacity or filtering through water. Also wouldn't burning paper (joint) be more dangerous than hitting a bong?
