4-6 inches above the plants canopy is perfect. Cfls only produce useful light spectrum for about a foot. By 3 feet it's diminished by over half. But the thing with cfls is that you can put them inches above the leaves without burning. So your good for about 4-6 plants. Like I said having more smaller output lights versus one or 2 large watt lights is best. And TBH when growing with cfls it's best to go off of the lumen per sq ft rule vs wattage because of how cfls work Sent from my 2PQ93 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
