I know this isn't exactly in the movie category but lately I have been watching documentaries on ancient Egyptain monuments, kings and tombs. I fucking love the culture and belief systems of the old world. Anyone else get into this sort of thing? I know there's a couple of you. I was just watching one on the valley of queens, and one of the queens was buried in the valley of kings a kilometre away in a 600ft deep tunnel behind pillars in a kings tomb. I'm not sure why I have to finish it later but yeah, interesting.
I remember tell my dad (40 years ago) "maybe pyramid power is real." and he said "Maybe it's just the most efficient way to pile rock."
An interesting analogy. Who knows the true purpose but I know there's channels in pyramids that align with ancient star constellations.
If you think of living in an age and society - before electricity, - with organized public works - farming system advanced enough to store and feed your population and many other specialized skills, you'd find yourself looking up at the night sky quite often with not much else to do after sundown (when RA fights Apophis). I live in a rural area away from even a town's street light pollution, and let me tell you, the night sky can be as clear as still waters. And the shit you can see, including the milky way (bet you've never seen it), is awe inspiring. I know what goes on out there, and it still amazes me. Now think of your self living in those times. As a priest studying the position of the stars (what else you gonna do?) and constellations, the ones that stand out the most would be the ones you'd deem most important. So it's no wonder the shafts point to Orion. So you have an impenetrable tomb, with an escape route for the pharaoh's spirit so he (and his riches) can go to Orion and live forever.
@Tycho1 I live in a small Australian city, when I go out bush/desert I see a lot I don't see in the suburbs but I know what you mean.
Some of my research showed Parts of Egyptian history has been erased by the next incoming Pharaoh or Pharaohs. But the same is true of almost every country or empire in history . Sometimes Finding the research is like Basket and robins 31 flavors . you research the the stuff that gives you the answers you want . Its really tough to wad through everything written and not know if what your researching is truthful/factual or not. If the Pharaoh or any of his captains or generals screwed up . like losing a battle then the whole event was stricken . They're birth , names and the embarrassing event would removed from every scroll or pillar that had anything to do with the event . What little research I have done , you had a northern Pharaoh and Southern Pharaoh according to the head dress they wore . One was a cone and the other like Cobra In about 250 BC Alexandra Egypt Was the learning capital of the world .. Interesting topic . Good luck
