Do you use YOUR car when you go to Hydroponics store?

As long as you don't go to the hydro store and spend A LOT of money and make it obvious you might be doing something illegal then I wouldn't worry about anything. I go to my local hydro store with my car and even pay with my debit card and I'm not worried at all. The most I probably spend at 1 time is around 70 bucks there.

For all anyone knows, you are growing legal plants indoors which is what that store is designed for. Just so happens that it aids really well in supplying everything you need for growing weed!

 

Yeah, I drive my truck, use my card or cash. but I have to drive 2.5 hrs away to vegas to the nearest hydro shop.

and the best part about this shop.. you walk in the and the dude is all.. Beer or shot.. I have a full wet and dry bar.. and he either will poor you a shot or hand you a beer. so you can drink while you shop.. pretty sick place. prices are even decent.

Hydro shop people wont do any thing to you, if they rat there customers out, who will buy from them..

 

i have no idea where you all live but my local hydro shop knows exactly what every person is in there for, CANNABIS! i use my credit card, and drive my own car and its 5 minutes from my front door. WA state is a legal growing state ( with a green card ) so its normal i guess. no cops at my place yet, and ive been growin strong for years now, and use my credit card EVERY time, and no im not a registered grower ( yet ). stop being paranoid, thats my advice just dont get anything shipped from the net to the grow spot.

 

I don't take the risk of going to hydro stores, and you are not being overly paranoid. Definitely reports over the years of a cop with a bug up his ass to bust a pot grower scoping out the parking lot of a hydro store for a target, either running the license plate or actually following you home. That is not basis for a search warrant, a cop with a hard-on to bust someone doesn't need a search warrant though, plenty of ways to harass you and/or get you into a situation to then bust you if he wants.

 

Ya I dont think your being paranoid either. If there was a hydro store in my town the cops would follow everyone that left the place. I wouldnt smoke before you go and dont take any herb with you just in case you do get pulled over. I know if I was stoned and got pulled over with a car load of hydro supplies I would freak out but thats just me prob.

pot heads run head shops and pot heads run my hydro shop and the employees themselves probably grow janey

unless your hydro store is some kind of fancy place with professional sales people trying to milk you for your money

sorry but if you're THAT paranoid about it, you said it yourself, if the cop has a "hard on to bust someone" then apparently they wont follow any laws. so they will probably just bust ur door down and search your house for shit anyways, even if he didnt follow you home from the hydro shop.

its like people who wont go to head shops cuz they are afraid the cops are standing outside waiting for em. they have better things to do than sit in a parking lot outside of a hydro shop looking for potential weed growers. jeez. also, its not illegal to shop at a hydro store and that shit would never hold up in court. cop might give you the ticket and take you to jail, but you'll win that battle in court

Yes I drive the car, and sometimes I use my card. Hell, I even have an account at the place.

Bottom line is, GROWING MARIJUANA IS LEGAL!!! (in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Michigan, Maine, Rhode Island, Alaska, and Hawaii) I'm not saying to advertise that you are but... C'mon.

I'd understand if you were buying all the cold medicine from the local drug store and some ether. Maybe if you picked up some kids coloring books, a length of rope and some duct tape, then I'd worry. All you're doing is buying growing supplies, they will NEVER get a warrant on something so stupid. Anyone who thinks going to a store increases your risk clearly has little to no understanding of law enforcement. My own brother is a cop, I get a first hand view of him and his coworkers and he knows what I do.

Of course my own brother wouldn't ever bust me but also he knows what my rights are as a citizen of this state. Unless you're a scum bag for other reasons, or obviously growing an effing farm in your basement, you won't ever have a problem from the hydro shop. Maybe it's just because I'm an upper-middle class white kid from a liberal California mountain town and not an impovershed African-American from a southern conservative state; but I just don't see the need to freak out about going to the store.

 

Do you guys live in a town with like 50 people in it or something? I know in a metro area of 5-10 million your chances of getting that kind of cop on your ass are pretty damn slim. And if you're worried about bein stoned and getting pulled over with a car load of hydro supplies just dont smoke before you go shopping, simple.

Likewise, the hydroponic store sells equipment for growing "herbs and vegetables" indoors. Only, everyone's growing ganja and everyone knows about it. Just nobody talks about it.

 

I dont like to use my own vehicle, or to head straight home from the local shop. I live in a town of ~1million people and it is the ONLY shop in town of its kind. Having that shop in town is a blessing as anyone who has had to supply their ops with crap ghetto rigged from standard hardware store stock (ie home depot or lowe's, ugggh) can tell you.
I do realize however that the cops would be absolutely retarded if they weren't casing the joint.
I look at it this way: If it were my duty as part of a local police drug task force to find and eliminate all grow house activity in my area of responsibility, I would definately start by sniffing around the ONLY store within 100 miles that supplies the gear...

As to those who say people are being too paranoid, true understanding of what a 5+ year federal sentence will do that to you...

Believe me, any one of you peoples' grow ops can mean a massive promotion for the guy in charge who busts it...and if the current state of the world is any evidence, there is no better motive than a PROFIT motive...

 

Well now that you bring it up...I'm kidding.

I can understand calling someone who thinks that the black govt helicopters are going to come swoop em up paranoid. But to accuse someone of paranoia on that level because they want to take a couple of extra steps to ensure security is simply irresponsible.

You are the one who knows YOUR OWN locale the best, and if you don't you really really should apply yourself to. I advise taking ANY and ALL measures available to help ensure the security of your grow show, including avoiding association with local suppliers. (disclaimer - i have never heard of any hydro store EVER ratting out folks, but I do know what happens when the FEDs put the screws to someone in a position to lose everything...tragedy)

Besides cannabis, my other passion is space exploration, where anyone can tell you that the more redundancies in a system, the more reliable it is. I guess this has rubbed off on me as far as wanting as many layers of protection between me and disaster as possible.

Of course any actions you do take security-wise are subject to cost-benefit analysis. For me it is no problem to use a different vehicle and go for a nice drive (smoke free) before heading straight home.

As far as slamming people for being cautious (or paranoid depending on your disposition), c'mon folks, be civil when in disagreement.

id say if your that paranoid about goin to the hydro shop..... i wouldnt be doin this AT ALL. its a gardening center, nothing your buying from there is ILLEGAL. and even if they wanted to be assholes and follow you home, youd still have to be doing something blatenly illegal for them to get a "warrant". being that paranoid takes all the fun outta what were all tryin to do here. just do your thing, dont open your mouth to stupid people that could get you busted, and most of all....... HAVE FUN ! ! ! !
