Do You Tell Your Doctor About Your Marijuana Use?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by Kwayle, Mar 22, 2005.

  1. Just wondering ... Do you feel you can talk honestly with your healthcare providers about your marijuana use? How about if you do not have a condition that would qualify you for medical marijuana? Thanks for sharing your suggestions ans experiences!

  2. I have a chronic, somewhat debilitating illness. I see multiple specialists. There are very few people I feel uncomfortable about my smoking with. But for some reason, in six years I have never told any of my docs that I puff.

I just get the feeling they would put a very negative spin on things as related to my condition, regardless of the validity.

  3. I have multiple sclerosis, one of the conditions that would qualify me for medical marijuana if I lived in Canada but not here in the good-old-god-fearing USA. Still, I can't bring myself to discuss it with any of the bunch of doctors I see, either. That's just another example of the wrong done by keeping it illegal.

  4. Hmmmm if you "don't havea condition that would qualify" then that would be lieing init?

    Flowers-Of-Truth

  5. Nope, I just remarked that I have a condition that would qualify me for medical marijuana, not that I want or need to ask a doctor for a prescription. (I've had a good source for years before I had a medical condition.) All I mean is, it sure would be nice to be able to talk with health-care providers about marijuana's benefits, deficits, interaction with other drugs/medicine, etc. This kind of honesty is prevented by our archaic drug laws.

  6. I have Fibromyalgia.... and all the joints in my feet are misplaced by a half inch.. Causes me alot of pain, I told my doc that I smoke to ease the pain..

  7. Whenever I see my psychiatrist, I tell him about it. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it. But when I told him about me getting drunk one time, he told me that wasn't a good idea. My Doctor really knows what the true evil is.
