USA, NY, NYC 1965..No filters, Bamboo papers..LOL But there were Laredo Machines if you couldn't roll on your own..Today, I only smoke a pipe or bong, but also Dab a lot..I don't like smoking paper.
I know some people may laugh, but I use tips/crutch for my blunts and the blunts come out EXCELLENT. I'm tired of seeing shitty soggy flat ass blunts falling apart in the middle of a sesh. I use RAW perforated hemp tips that help stabilize and hold the form of the blunt and prevent the end from closing. Not to mention, better smoother hits. NYC & CT
Sometimes I use a crutch, sometimes not. Rolling for me is not something learned in one place or time, it's an ongoing search for rolling perfection, and it never stops!
I do not use a filter, I do not understand why people do. I don't get weed in my mouth without one, but, my blunts are a very uniform cone filled from end to end, so for me, a tip would be moot, assuming the reason for the filter is to prevent the cannabis from falling out of the end. Though, this could also be to allow a barrier from the end of the cigar and the resin created, which I get, but, I do not care about this. I'm from South Carolina, I learned to roll a blunt by buying a few cigars and rolling a blunt. It was very fluid for me, so, I became the communal blunt roller.
I never use a filter on a blunt. For a joint, I mean if it comes with one then why not. I'm from California, learned how to roll by watching the older homies roll then just practicing myself.
I've always used a roach in a blunt I'd rather get a decent hit everytime + you don't really get lip/finger burners if you use a roach in blunts/Js lol
With, keeps fingers from getting burnt, smoke down to the filter and out. No weed wasted, or stinky small roach to save. And it pulls easier. Hate to hear someone sucking on a joint. And it sounds like there sucking air through a coffee stirrer. Learnt to roll from Keith. Guy from England married my mom. Guess i was 14 or 15 yrs old.
I learned to roll with a tip. I have tried to roll without them before and I can't get a decent joint. From Alberta Canada. I learned fairly recently at one of the lounges here and from youtube.
I suck at rolling but I always used a filter/crutch/tip/whatever u want to call it. No downside to it and only upsides to it. Well one possible downside being you could accidentally begin to smoke it towards the end if you're not careful lol.
When I'm paying retail prices and not growing I get stingy with my weed. To me there is no such thing as cheating, when I'm burning money. I use a long filter, just using any thing like an index card (cheaper and work the same) maybe 1/2" - 3/4". The longer the filter, the cooler that last hit, compared to having the cherry just 1/4 away from your lips. The lower part of the joint sometimes I'll pack with trim or shake. It acts as another filter. Then the upper half gets the fire. Once it burns down to the lower quality herb, it's time to put that joint out. Then I trash it, sometimes smoke it later, the resin from the good weed made it a little stronger. If I happen to smoke a little paper, it's not going to hurt! There's no waste of the good stuff, it all gets burnt up.
