Do you prefer to buy online or at your local head shop?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by deathbyzen, Jun 17, 2011.

  1. Just wondering where you prefer to buy your pipes/etc.

We just got our second head shop here and the guy is super nice and doesn't mind talking to you or showing you pieces. His prices are good too. It's great because he's closer to my place and he's like 100x friendlier than some of the dicks at the other head shop. :D

  2. Headshop is were i buy mine.

  3. Definitely at head shops. Hate buying a piece without being able to hold it and inspect it first...and headships let you talk down the price.

  4. Head shops for immediate gratification. Usually online for quality / price

  5. oh and I had another question. Are head shops just straight up illegal in some states?

  6. I dont think so... To comment on the guy who sad he haggles prices....the head shops in my hood are chain so haggles= no...bt dub if head shops are illegal in a given state I would assume that shipping head shop related items to that state would be illegal as well.

  7. Online because I have no headshops.

  8. I'd buy a vaporizer online, but for a glass piece I'd most likely buy from a headshop.

  9. I got this headshop near me. it's called LSD hahahah the peeps are mad chill..

  10. i feel that you can get the exact piece you want online and the company that you want, where with headshops it can be hit or miss with what they carry, and i feel that you can get a better deal online, at least compared to the things i have bought from my LHS

  11. i have a decent headshop nearby, but how much do you think a decent glass bong would be online vs. in a headshop.

  12. that really is relevant as to what you consider I have a med-size water pipe that I bought for thirty bucks local.... gets compliments in every circle.... its decent glass... most likely china made.... you might be able to find a similar quality water pipe for 30 + Shipping and honestly paying the shipping in most cases is worth it...

These are a couple of good examples of water pipes in the range that Im speaking:

(This one comes in a couple of colors)

    http://www.grasscity.com/us_en/glass-waterpipe-cool-liquid.html

The last two are the only ones with any real color or style. The rest are clear with some having a cannabis leaf on them.

The lack of style / color at this price is typical at this price range.

I read the reviews on the ones that have reviews. Some of the have a thin glass problem and this typically means that your going to have to leave it at home.

The water pipe I bought for thirty at the head shop by contrast is small enough that I can port it with me..Sturdy enough base that it can take a slight push with water in it... It is blue in color with some level of style. ( like I said originally its gotten several nods in circles)

This says to me... that if your going to spend in that range local may be best because none of your budget is for shipping. You should be able to find something with some flare that meets your specific needs.

HOWEVER if you are going to spend any thing above fifty dollars I would say online is better.

Several reasons for this... Typically water pipes where I'm at are up on a shelf and the staff are usually hesitant to move them unless you are showing strong buying signs.... Because the more they move the greater chances the drop... they drop they break it.

This creates an environment that is similar to the online buying experience any way.

Although some times you can find a gem at the local spot.

The best practice really is to decide on the very most you want to spend on a pipe (and stick to it)

Find a pipe online that is as close to that price with out going over with shipping included.

Then pop by the local spot and look at pipes for your price or less. If what you find local beats what you found online....buy local...if not dash home urgently and order online.
