Does anyone really enjoy their job? We’re all just doing this shit for money/medical benefits right? Are we truly free or slaves to the dollar bill? 9-5 grind...grind your soul
Slave to the grind bro. Just put out 15 yards of mulch for my daily wage. Bills and weed. Bills and weed. Ha ha Sent from my LM-Q610(FGN) using Tapatalk
Yup, all that money we work for goes right out the window to bills. And there’s not much left over unfortunately. Cost-of-living just goes up when we get paid the same.
I think it’s also a good idea to have multiple streams of income. If we rely on one job and that job goes away and you’re basically fucked.
I enjoy my job. The pay isn’t great and I have no medical benefits but I would rather make less money than spend every day doing a job I hate. Did that for about 15 years and decided it wasn’t worth it to me. We are as free as we can make ourselves, the possibility of which is dependent on the resources we have available.
Some days i dont mind my job and other days can’t wait to get TF outta there. I also hafta drive an hour and 15 mins each way to get there and back home so that can drag sometimes too. In 7-10 years I can retire so at least theres a glimmer of hope. But yeah - slaves to the dollar. I sure wouldnt be getting up at 3:30am daily and driving 65 miles if I didn’t have to. j
I like my job. Some days, I love it. I think I work above my pay grade, but don't we all? I found my vibe quite unintentionally. It took time, inconvenience, and hard work to get here, but now I build Bali huts and poolside waterfalls for guys who'll probably never enjoy them because, despite hating their jobs, they spend 60 hours per week there.
Nah. It's not too bad, but I definitely wouldn't say I enjoy it. Great company though, great benefits and retirement plan with lots of opportunity to grow, so ill stick around. Pay right now isn't good but should be great within the next year.... been through alot of shit this past year so my parents are nice enough to let me move back in for awhile til I get that raise, plus with my health problems I need to take good insurance over good starting pay. I'm single so its completely free
LOL....or you have a better job that you don't need one. I have no need for a side-hustle with my current job, nor did I need one at my last job. In fact, the only time I've ever needed a side-hustle was when I was struggling to find any job and I did ubereats and postmates for about a year. And I LOVE my current gig...it's way better than my last gig, which I also loved, but was really hard some days (I helped people get into Drug and Alcohol rehab). Now I help people get tutoring for the LSAT or Bar exam. So much easier. And my office is in my living room.
Sounds like you got it all figured out During your struggle to find a job, a side hustle would’ve kept you a float without having to Ubereats or Postmates. Hence my point of having multiple streams of cash flow coming in. But if you want to throw your eggs all in one basket, to each their own
I work 40+ hours a week currently and have for over 3 years now (except for that 98 day paid holiday I got thanks to COVID from March to July). I don't have the need nor do I have the bandwidth for a side hustle, so again you might think that it's required to be prosperous, but if you have an education and are working in a half-way decent field, you don't need one. Work smarter not harder. Having at least BA from a prestigious university helps a lot. Sure it cost a lot but considering in the 10 years after I got my BA my average yearly salary DOUBLED, it was well worth it.
Boomer generation thinks it’s still possible to get a BA and go get a job where you have extra income for savings and can purchase a home etc. lol Those days are gone unfortunately you’re either rich or poor. So yes in this day and age multiple streams of income are almost a necessity for most.
I used to like my job because I could get high as fuck before my shift & the managers didn't care as long as I loaded the vans correctly I haven't worked for a while though now mainly because of being a cripple
