Do you guys get homesick?

  1. It's my senior year of college and I still get homesick, especially after breaks. It used to be more of an issue freshman and sophomore year when I'd freak out and want to transfer whenever I was homesick.

Really I'm not even far from home, I can go home just about any time (or commute) but I choose not to because I'm really much more productive here and theres also more to do here. Plus it's just so expensive to drive back and forth.

I see my family often but for some reason I still get homesick. Oh well, not too much longer now.

  2. whenever i leave home i get homesick. left for 6 days and was sick every morning, couldnt eat and shit.

i just couldnt ever leave the region im from.

  3. I recently moved up from Oregon after living there my whole life,
I like Washington but it feels soulless without my friends and family back home.
    Pretty homesick.

  4. I've just moved from one side of Australia to the other, and yeah I've been homesick quite a bit. I'll always feel more at home on the east coast, but this will be my home from now on and once i get to know my way around it won't be so bad.

  5. i am in new jersey for a bit and yes everyday i get up and am not in Texas (will never go back to Mexico) i am home sick especially when the winter and fall time come. I hate the cold.

  6. I just miss the snow in winter.

  7. I am sick of home, but I can't pass up the free rent while I'm in school, and my home is pretty good.

  8. Yes obviously if you love your home where you are from you will get homesick but it will pass you will meet new friends that are family and you will grow as a person with those new experiences. And you can always go back to visit the east side of the island

  9. I missed it big time. I missed the homecooked meals and my family the most...but it also taught me to make my own food and that friends can help you get over missing them

  10. never be homesick, its just fear of the unknown and loss of the norm. you take your home with you mentally , if your at peace you will be ok anywhere .

i often miss things from where i grew up, but travelling and adventures don't happen enough there to make me a better person.

  11. I get away sick, I go to college a whole twenty miles from where I grew up lol, Gotta get the fuck outta here.

  12. Ten thousand miles, an ocean, and two continents sit between my family and I. I consider this home now and if I never set foot on English soil again I wouldn't be for the worse, but I miss the family and sometimes the homesickness really grinds.

I'm not sure the feelings get lighter, but you get better at dealing with it. A lot of it has to do with keeping busy and establishing a solid social circle. The best part about it is that you get to create your own 'home' now. You're not stuck with the one you were born into.

  13. When I first moved out I was pretty homesick. Really it's the intimacy of family, and stability, that I missed. But then I moved back in with my rents, and once again, I can't wait to leave. :p

  14. not at all. i love my family, but ive never missed them for a second. when i first moved out i didnt even talk to my mom for like 6 months, and only did because i came down with mono and needed medical info.

  15. I miss my hometown like hell, but my actual house, fuck that, I don't wanna go back to that shit.

  16. I dont get home sick, I get SICK of HOME

  17. I get homesick when I'm here because I hate living here so much, I'm happy when I'm not in this state.

  18. Been living an hour away from my hometown for 5 years and I still get homesick at times... Don't miss living at home, but do miss my hometown and my family.

  19. lived in Florida for 18 years and ever since 3rd grade i said i was moving out of there to go to school... sure enough a couple months after i graduated I went to play football 14 hours away from my home town and make my parents come visit because I can't stand Florida and have only been back maybe 3-4 times in the past 4 years for less than a week each... so no, I do not get homesick lol
