Do you believe suicide is selfish and cowardly?

  1. I don't think it is. I think someone who attempts suicide is in overwhelming pain, in a scary place and to think death is your only way out... well it's just fucking sad.

    I've attempted suicide before.
And before people start jumping down my throat, I was in a bad place at the time. I couldn't see thing straight.

    But, no.
    I survived attempted suicide.
It's the rumours, gossip and hate I got afterwards that left deeper scars.

  2. Why you think I am still here lol? I do not want to fuck it up and be in the hospital while my town thinks I am a little bitch. Call me what you want once I am in the box :)

  3. Suicide is boring.

There's no honour in killing one's self.

No courage is needed to be dead.

    Suicide is just a suicide.

One minute you're alive, and next minute you're dead.

    Simple.

    --

But HOW you kill yourself... is less boring.

And makes a suicide much more interesting.

The different methods used to kill one's self give different meaning to their death.

  4. When I attempted suicide I truly believed that I was a waste of space. I had been told throughout my childhood by various family members that I was a waste of space and a burden. I felt by killing myself I was actually doing everyone else a favour. I thought this world would be better off without me.

I may be a lot of things, I may be fucked up, I might of been very unstable... but honestly, I do not think I am selfish.

It actually takes a lot of courage to kill yourself...

  6. Of course it does.

But how much is 'a lot'?

Between 100 sleeping pills and a wakizashi, which takes more courage?

(a Wakizashi is a short Japanese knife, used by Samurais to comminte suicide.)

  7. Is it normal to think about it? Sometimes I imagine myself doing it, and I even planned out how I would do it if I decided to.

  8. What's your plan?

How are you going to die?

In my case? Neither. I tried with pills and I used to be a cutter, and tried that way too.

For normal people though? I'm not sure.

If you're gonna do it, you better succeed the first time...

This was a long time ago. Glad I failed actually.

  12. Then don't ever say you tried to suicide.

There was a guy who killed himself by throwing himself off a bridge with a rope around his neck and plastic bag over his head.

The force of the fall picked his head right off the body, and the headless body plunged to the river, while his plastic bag covered head remained dangling on the rope which was tied to the guard rail of the bridge.

He did it at very early morning, so nobody saw him jump.

Eventually someone saw something dangling from the bridge on a rope, but he couldn't tell what it was because there was a plastic bag over it.

It looked round, and it looked like a head, and Oh my fucking god it IS a head...

They found a note, etched into the iron guard rail...

"I came to Bangkok to be with you."

The moral of the story :

The guy had a triple lock system.

    1. The fall : If he fell in the river from high bridge, he will probably die.

    2. The rope : But in case he didn't die, there's the rope.

    3. The plastic bag : And in case the rope didn't do it's job, there's the plastic bag to suffocate him.

The moral of the story is, if you're gonna do it, make sure you die.

  16. I understand your confusion.

I don't like it when people talk about their attempted suicide.

Just being honest. Afterall, this thread is about suicide.

  18. i understand some people say oh its so cowardly you dont deal with your problems bla bla bla its a selfish act. well thats only one take on it. in the end its YOUR life and YOUR decision if you want to live it or not. while i would never kill myself, it will come eventually no need to rush it, i stand somewhere in between the two ways of looking at it

  19. Me too.

I just don't like it when people talk about their failed attempts at suicide.

    Too fucking depressing.

And it just makes me want to shout, "You should have succeeded the first time, you weak ass!"

    Sorry if I sound... offensive.
