  1. personally, i think that karma is just a thing that unlucky people believe in so they can feel better about themselves. i mean, we all know life isnt fair....

  2. well, karma is not actualy a supernatural thing that most people interpret it as, if you have ever read anything about buddhism, karma basically means that ALL actions have reactions, and therefor all happenings are a result of an action, or in most cases several actions within your control. Something that may induce bad karma for example would be something illeagle because it could have a bad result. If you live a "perfect" life you arent going to have problems; you wont ever be "in the wrong place at the wrong time". If you think about the last bad thing that happend to you, it happend as a result of several things you did in the past. It works the same way with good things too. Be nice to people, and your life will be filled with only good results.

  3. I was helping a old lady across the street and got my foot ran over, does this fit into your 'karma' SittingBowl?

  4. well if you were dipping her bag it would:rolleyes:

  5. exactly:)!!

  6. same question goes for you daisey,

  7. i can't answer why someone drove over your foot while u were nice enough to help an old lady out. maybe u were there to save her life? if u hadn't been there, she would of gotten run over. maybe u did more than u thought....

  8. lol possibly, I was just trying to show that in the above persons view of 'karma' that it would have to work systematically ; good people will not be done wrong and bad people shall recieve proper punishment - and quite obvioulsy this is not the way we see it in the real world. Constantly there are good people that have bad being done to them - and as well we find bad people who lead very good lives.

  9. lmao, i hear what ur sayin. i get ur point. i agree good people can have bad things happen to them. we are not perfect;)

but for the bad leading very good lives, how can that be? are u saying good as in rich with material things or a good, normal happy life. either way it aint gunna fly. not imo.

  10. for instance people that can get away with murder and not feel guilt or shame afterwards. The ones that can lead a normal life again after comitting a horrible act of some sort.

And my definition of a 'good life' would have to be overall happiness. Not measured in material posessions or by lifestyle.

  11. they aren't living a happy life. they think they are;) honestly tho, i think when they die, they will be judgeing themselves. it all works out in the end

i'd get into this more, maybe later, gotta get ready for work now tho.

  12. I see what your saying - Although i think its the state of mine that determines happiness.

  13. true, definately. till u die lol

  14. I think Karma is a more general thing, not necessarily a cause-and-effect thing. Like if you live a shady life and steal/lie/cheat, then evetually you'll fuck yourself over or someone who you've fucked over with fuck you up. But if you live a generous, good life where you're kind and likeable, then people will do nice things for you and treat you well. That doesn't mean Mr. Nice Guy won't get run over by a train and Mr. Asshole lives to be 95, but just in general the "world" will be nicer to Mr. Nice Guy and not Capt. Asshat.

  15. Good people are done good by other people. If they are good they are not rewarded by some supernatural force,

If i help you move your furniture you'd probably smoke me up later-

Good people are Liked by the general population. Its true - you like people that are good, dont you? Is this Karma?

  16. Exactly. I believe completely in karma. Only I dont see it as such a spiritual thing. I see it more as a balencing act. I feel that in order for this world and universe to exist, everything must be balenced. So for every truly hateful person out there, there is a kind philantropist. Its like everything has an oposite in life, wether we consider certain things to be 'living' or not, but there is an opposite to anything and everything that is around us. That means for a good person thiers a bad person. For hate there is love. For summer there is winter. In order for anything to exist, let alone coexist, there must be a mutual balence among things. Its like, when you can actually understand that concept, whole-heartedly, then you can see this world for what it really is - A very tranquil, mundane life, where nothing matter and everything matters. That is when you begin to appreciate the little things and understand that no matter what you do in life, in the end it will all balence out and you will be at zero.

  17. Can i ask you mike, what is the opposite of time? And where does this exist/

If you agree with a previous poster my questions will apply to you as well,

  18. I kind of think that it is. Like a friend of mine who is super nice, always helps people out and stuff. I'd say he has good karma, because so many of those he's helped are willing to help him. Lets say I have another friend who's a lying scumbag--no one will help him. He has bad karma.

So I don't think Karma is some mystical force, but more of a life philosophy of doing good to others and having that come back.

  19. so your karma is basically another word for 'well liked'.

  20. Karma is a strange thing, its the subtle energy system you build around yourself in one or many lifetimes, depending on how much you understand about the truth of life upon Earth. It determines how many times you will have to return, but Karma is always positive. We start each lifetime with a pure spirit, and it is only the way we act towards each other and God which pushes this into a negative energy field but the good thing is there are many chances to find your true nature and spiritual identity and increase the positive Karma energy field around you. Depending on your understanding of the power of the spirit within you. It will determine the choices you are faced with in this eternal life of spirit the more open to your self you become, the more choices you will be offered in your spiritual path, i.e. RETURN WITH NO CHOICE, RETURN BY CHOICE OR TOTALLY TRANSCEND PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS AND MOVE ON IN YOUR SPIRITUAL FORM.
