    This is my first grow.
The strain is yorkies one of my friend sent me from California.
They’re 3 weeks from sprouting and around 4 in tall.
I started them indoors under 50w led kept 18 inches from the plants (light cool daylight and 2X 9 watt warm white) .
I fed them with slow release nutrient at the end of week 2.
After the week two I started hardening them off putting them under a mango tree in my garden.
Please look at the pictures. At comments/ suggestions are welcome.

Also I am based in the Himalayas.

  2. No comments at all?

    Look healthy.
What are you using for soil and aeration?

  5. Hello! Thanks for the positive response. I’ve just been using my garden soil which is very fertile. I have grown outdoor cannabis putting the seeds directly in the soil and I’ve had no problems. This is my first time growing in pots outdoor.
I had 2 plants over 20ft tall and few more.
For these ones, I used 50% garden soil and 50% Vermicompost. I have attached a label of the nutes I used at the end of week 2.
This soil type does not retain water anyway.

Do you think I should still add something for aeration?
Also I want to TOP the plants. The fifth nodes are coming up now. Do you think it’s a good time to TOP?
Should I transplant them into a bigger pots and then top or top now and wait sometime before transplanting?

    Thanks

  6. Thank you so much

Do you think I should still add something for aeration? Yes aeration should be At least 30% of your soil mix.Roots need space to grow. Not sure what you have access to where your at. Perlite, Pumice, Buckwheat hulls, Rice hulls, lava rock to name a few. Do a search for aeration there's lots to choose from. Its just a matter of what you can source and afford.

Also I want to TOP the plants. The fifth nodes are coming up now. Do you think it’s a good time to TOP? Cant help with the topping not my thing.

Should I transplant them into a bigger pots and then top or top now and wait sometime before transplanting?
Bigger the pot the more root the more root the more bud. What about in the ground

  8. Himalayas?
    How cold is it there?
    When is your first freeze?
Hopefully you are in a hardiness zone that wont kill your plants.
If you want to grow another 20 footer I'd just keep them inside under 18/6 lighting until next spring.
If you put them outside now you're just going to go straight into flower.

Cannabis needs or likes lots of direct sunlight. Putting them under the mango tree is a bad choice.

  9. Thank you so much, I think rice hull would be easier for me to get. I’ll do my research.

  10. The thing is I am not way up in the Himalayas. Although cannabis still thrives there.
It has just started getting cold with shorter days. About 12 hours of daylight at the moment and it’s going to gradually decline to 9 hours of daylight.
The temperature here never goes below 3 . Celsius. The sun shines bright through the winter.
I wouldn’t plant them in the soil as they may end up flowering just now. I am currently providing them 3 hours of morning sun and 5 hours in shade outside and then I put them under my led lights for the rest 10 hours.
I want to give them as much sunlight as possible while supplementing them with LEDs to give them 18 hours of light.

    Hope it works!
