I recently, for the first time in my life, have started taking multi-vitamins. They are just gummies I found at Walgreen's, I take two per day when I wake up and that's it. It's the only thing I consume for my health, besides whey protein. However, I did a little bit of research -- including reading a story published by Johns Hopkins -- and they stated that multi-vitamins' impact on the human body are pretty irrelevant, especially on people in their younger years. I'm almost 30, for context, and don't feel like I have to take these. I just figured it couldn't hurt, and I can't stomach fish oil. So, am I wasting time and money with these things?
depends what your doing with the rest of your diet. If your eating well then the multivitamins are a complete waste of time. If your diet sucks then they may do some good. I keep a pack (the evervesant kind) in my toolcase- if iv got a busy run of work I can have weeks where the only food I eat is whats available at motorway services at 3am, or I could be spending a whole week on a festival site where the catering has gone to the people who said theyd do it cheapest even though they dont really know how to cook and there isnt a single vegetable in the kitchen... working long days under those conditions you get run down pretty quick, the multivitimins seem to hold off the malnutrition short term. Im not sure Id want to live like that long term.
I'd stay away from gummy vitamins cause they typically have unnecessary things.. like food coloring. I looked at some before.. and the food coloring was higher on the list than the actual vitamins.. so that would mean they have more dye than vitamins. As for multivitamins, they can be hit or miss. Sometimes they will have something in it that you don't exactly need.. but then again, what doesn't? Unless you're seeing a doctor and having your blood and piss tested for vitamin levels.. you'll never really know what you need and don't need. Whenever I take vitamins, I take them with coconut oil cause it'll help your body to absorb them and not get wasted. Pretty much any kind of fat with fat soluble vitamins will help.. otherwise you'll piss them out in some toxic looking urine.
so true- sometimes Iv overdone it a bit and a swear my piss was so fluorescent you couldve read by it
Some you don't even need to overdo it.. the kind I take when I do will always give me some glowing piss, except when I take them with coconut oil.
Most are very cheap and have fillers that are bad for your health (like most supps). I highly suggest logging your foods at a site like cronometer.com and only supplementing what you are deficient in. My typical supplements: a, d, e, k, b vitamin complex (b1, b2, b3, b6) and magnesium. The glowing piss are b vitamins (b2) that were not utilized.
no. you can't pack enough effective dosage into a single pill or even two. if anything go for a liquid multi-vitamin, which is easier to digest and look for the organic sources.
I lived on multi-vitamins and cheap walmart food for a long time. Frozen veggies, ready to eat chicken, frozen pizza, idgaf.. My body may not entirely enjoy it, but my wallet loves it.
First of all "only thing I consume for my health." Start there, if you only just started taking them(plus walgreens multi aren't the best) they're really only to cover deficiencies and for certain vitamins, to optimize your intake. You've been eating your whole life. Thats the area you wanna refine not depend on something you'll be pissing out.
No because they're synthetic. Research things like nascent iodine, vitamin D3, essential oils, and other forms of organic vitamins and minerals for a better understanding of what I mean
They only work good if they are extracted from a Whole-Food source. Synthetic Multivitamins are a waste of money. Stick to Nature if you want to see results.
As far as OP, of all useless multi vitamins, gummies have to be the worst. Also, the problem with multivitamins is that even if they say they have 100% daily value, some vitamins compete for up take/absportion I suggest eating the vitamins you need and supplementing the things you cannot get enough. Like vitamin D Epa and dha omega 3 fatty acids Really, getting the vitamins you need is pretty easy. Eat a few kinds of nuts and or seeds, some fruits and vegetables and you should be doing fine. Switching to Himalayan Pink rock salt is also a wise choice. The salt has about 86+ minerals that the body needs unlike the bleached table-salt which has been stripped of all its minerals and most are only 33% salt/sand/glass which scratches our veins and causes cholesterol to respond by blocking the damages. Then uneducated people and doctors blame cholesterol for being the problem. Celtic Sea Salt is another good choice.
I doubt the salt/glass/sand claim. Yes pink salt has more minerals but they are in such miniscule quantities isn't a big difference. Most of the minerals in pink salt is iron, hence the pink hue. Maybe you have some info that I don't have but I have researched it fairly extensively. I do love my pink salt lamp though!
Yeah i could be wrong i have just seen 3 - 4 different doctors and experts say the same thing over the years from different sources. Could be different based on different areas around the world as well. I understand, I just wanted to add that extra to your post. Even at those small amounts, With what you already mentioned. A little bit of extra goes a long way.
There are plenty of trace minerals that we need in miniscule amounts, if those were among the minerals in pink salt, it'd definitely be worth it.
Yea my dad informed me of Shilajit, but his was not powder it was like tar or black cannabis wax. Anyway, I couldn't find much out about that either, in terms of science. Furthermore, I couldn't find much info on what it really is lol or how it forms. Bizarre stuff. I actually kept his empty container for my cannabis wax haha.
