Do I smoke too much at a time?

  1. Hey guys, I have a question about the way pot affects me. I started smoking about a year and a half ago and I smoked schwag/mids back then, and the highs I got were amazing (probably because I was new to smoking). The weed made everything seem like a badass movie and there were times when I thought that if I concentrated enough I could even fly. However, since then I've started smoking nothing but dank weed but my highs are not nearly as enjoyable. When I get a little high I feel like I could go for more, so I get very high (pretty much as high as one can be) and I just feel like I can't concentrate on anything and kinda confused a lot of the time to the point where it's almost not worth it. I don't smoke every day so my tolerance isn't very high, but I usually just go on a binge for a week whenever I get a quarter. Any suggestions?
    *I am a college student and I often suffer from mostly social anxiety and sometimes depression, if that helps at all. I also sometimes have feelings of guilt due to my parents not supporting my habbit.
     
  2. It's because of your tolerance, you'll have to take a T-break and perform a rinse and repeat strategy if you want your highs to be like your first time
     
  3. that's the thing. I've taken breaks for months at a time and my highs are still always the same. It doesn't take me a lot to get high, I feel it after about 1-2 hits but I overkill it with .5 gram joints of dank / swishers. I sometimes get pretty paranoid too.
     
  4. When you start getting all confused and having a panic attack just close your eyes and sit down and take a few deep breaths. Even if your mind is going going going and racing thoughts, just close your eyes, sit down, and take deep breaths... but you may have to force yourself to sit down and close your eyes, if you have them closed for long enough your mind will track on to something else... it's just a sensory overload, closing your eyes will help
     
  5. Try vaporizing, it sounds like you are just getting stoned while hitting a vaporizer tends to give me a very calming clear high. It also helps with my anxiety more than anything. As for the paranoid feelings go, those are most likely self induced from the natural tendencies that come with doing something that can get you into trouble.. just be smart about your actions, learn to relax and you will be just fine over time (assuming your fairly new to smoking?).
     
  6. Try different methods of smoking like vaporizing and edibles. Depending on the way weed is ingested, your high will be different. Edibles give me a very strong, calming body high, as does vaporizing. Make sure you are in a good, calm mood when you smoke too, others you will get paranoid
     
  7. I think this is the problem coupled with your starting to smoke dank... Your getting too high almost.. a Mild high would probably relax you and help your anxiety however a dank high sounds like it aggravates it... Ive had it myself on and off over the years, dank isnt the greatest idea when you have underlying anxiety issues, especially if you are having to hide your habbit from people, your just gonna be paranoid as fuck all the time.
     
  8. Yes, but you might just be incredible anxious before a session or have stronger puff than normal.
     

  9. I agree, I am also pretty anti-social and when I smoke like 4 bowls to myself within a few hours I get pretty paranoid and I don't even feel as high as I did when I smoked my first bowl.. But i guess if i smoked 4 bowls of different strains I'd be high as fuck
     
  10. Alot of people try to reach the ultimate, first-time high. In my opinion, however, you cant. That first high feels so wonderful because of it being the first. Its your first time feeling it and your are trying to take everything in. Ive smoked for almost a year everyday and only at night or social gatherings. It takes me about one bowl to get high, depending on grade. I took a small break and it seemed to help somewhat.
     
  11. In my opinion, a lot of "getting high" is psychological. The quality of your high depends on a few things:
    1) your tolerance
    2) the THC content of the bud
    3) (imo) mental state

    Anxiety has a debilitating effect on a lot of things, including being high. My advice? Find someplace extremely relaxing, turn on some Bob Marley, and don't give two shits about the rest of the world for a few hours. You'd be surprised how much better your high can get if you just relax.
