I intend to use a midi tower but not sure how to gut it so that all the drive bays are gone, is there a specific make of tower that are easier to gut ?? Thanks all.
Its gunna be a little bit of works no matter what case you use. I've been working on my case. And at one point i had to use a pair of mini bolt cutters to rip out rivets. LOL
Way ahead of you on the fan front dude, i have been buzy smashing open anything busted that has a fan, and stock piling. What are you using for a reflective interior? Tin foil is not a good idea, I read somewhere car sundaresan reflectors are quite good for the job.
I'm using a a standard atx tower, I gutted it yesterday and some of the rivets were very annoying, I was using pliers and wire cutters. You'll be able to grow a plant in most small places, just means you'll be restricted on yield. Have to do LST etc.
Here's a tip guys.. to get rid of those damn rivets.. Take a drill with a bit that's smaller than the rivet. Run the drill in reverse on the rivet n it should pop out. There are still those rivets that still won't come out so with those, use a chisel n hammer n chisel out the bays from the pc wall. Also, any size pc case will work.. but the smaller the pc case, the more work/less yield you'll get. I've seen people use 14 inch cases successfully.
Thanks for the tip shug that sound loads easier then brute forcing them lol. And for the reflector I plan on order a roll of mylar from ebay for around 20$ everyone says mylar is the best and it fairly inexpensive.
dont bother buying it from ebay. You can go to home depot or lowes and get reflective tape.Same as mylar.Easier to line a case with. While your there youll wanna grab your lights, soil, adapters, etc
