Hey there im extremely new to growing my plants are all in my brain right now actually and i was wondering if i plan on lighting my grow box with HPS if i need an HPS Ballast to run the lights or if they can be placed into an edison socket? Thanks for the input
To run a HID light such as a HPS or MH you will need a ballast. I suggest a digital ballast because they produce less heat and are more efficient in energy usage. Also a digital ballast can run both HPS and MH bulbs, where as a magnetic core ballast can usually only run either MH or HPS but not both. Hope this helps.
