  1. Guys, I'd love to ask you a few questions on lights. here are the facts

    Room size: 12x24x8
DIY light fixture: 9 cob vero 29 SE 3500k

    Questions:

    - Should I use 3000k instead of 3500k?
    - Should I avoid alibaba LED that are ready to go to save a few bucks?
    - Any other tips or suggestions?

  2. Hi, for my room of 6 x 10 x 7 feets i use 12 x 100 watts cobs with lens
and rotational mover., about 700 watts wall power.
    For 20 plants
    by.

  3. whats a rotational mover?

  4. It's a light mover that moves the lights in a small circle above the plants. Usually to increase the coverage area of less power to allow it to cover slightly more space.

Light movers aren't used as much as they used to be it seems.

  5. IMO you're sort of asking those lights to cover a ridiculously large amount of space for the amount of wattage. Can't you only run those about 100 watts each? I don't see how 900 watts is going to cover that size of an area. That's a small commercial size grow around here. IMO you need about 5-8 times more power then that to flower that entire area.

  6. Hi Vadim, an others, yes, you should have at least twice my power because you have twice
the room area, see my others posts on the same forum,
to tbone, yes but there are news way to rotate its.

  7. Yes Tbone, i described only one light, will have about 7-8 of them in that room, just trying to decide now which heat sinks to use which light, i was thinking 8 35k and 1 3k in the middle for total of 9 on a 3x3 fixture.

  8. Any reason you're going with cobs and not some of the newer board based lighting that many people are using now? COBs like that are more circa 2016 type setup.

Have you seen these? 300 watts max rated output with a fan on the heatsink. $99. Hang and wire. Everything included for $99. 54 volt 6 amp max with a fan, 4200mA max passive. Why buy cobs with 1/3rd the max current rating?
I run two of them in my bloom area on an HLG-320h-54a in parallel so about 175 watts each passively cooled.

That can outperform 2-3 of the cobs you're looking at. They are so bright you almost can't look at them, like the surface of the sun. Less then $300 for a 350 watt capable setup.

  10. No I need to crack down and finish trimming it. It's not even 1/4 of the way done being trimmed right now. I try to rely on my wife to help trim but she's too slow. I'm going to have to step in.

  11. You've likely seen these as well? You can get 8 of them for $250 without heatsinks. It's potentially about 600 watts. Probably not cheaper then your price on the COBs.

  12. Help that poor lady! I just did around 1 pound by myself and I was really happy to get to the end

  13. i hate trimming, really hate it, plus my hands cramp up very easily so many times trimming is just too much for them and it's a non-stop crampfest.
it's just me and my wife using for our meds so i don't care what it looks like. i'll trim off the biggest and easiest stuff but after that I'm done. when i go to smoke the stuff and grab a bud out of the jar if there is a leaf too big for my preference to smoke i'll take it off than. :)
