Howdy howdy everyone! Long time lurker on various forums, finally decided to actually join one and log my very first grow! A little about myself: Like many of you, I’ve been smoking and enjoying sticky buds for over 15 years and have always wanted to try my luck at growing, but the moment never seemed to be right. In between legality issues, space issues, etc etc it never really materialized. Well, the moment is finally right and I took the plunge. Started with saying “fuck it” and trying to germinate three chemdog seeds that I got from some ounce that wasn’t the best quality but said hey, why not. I’ve tried to germinate seeds before to no avail, so I had given up trying to germinate random seeds years ago, but my wife said try it and see what happens. Success?! All 3 seeds germinated, long story short only: 1 baby made it. After that I was hooked, immediately went to see where I could find some clones and I found and picked up 2 clones at a dispensary. After that, my hunger for more became more intense and I found someone selling clones on CL.. so I hit him up and bought 7 from him. Lol! Started growing in a booboo cardboard box where I cut vents and slits to drop lights inside and for ventilation, my addiction became increasingly worse and within a couple weeks I found myself a small 3x2 tent, more lights, fans, nutrients, hella stuff my man. So now I have my decent little set up. Currently about a month in with my seedling, and about 2 weeks with my 2 bigger clones and about a week with my new 7 clones. 3 out of the 7 that I got from CL were basically dead on arrival due to probably being too young and not acclimated yet, but with a lot of tlc I was able to bring them back somehow. The strains currently are: Chemdog (seedling) 2 purple alien OG (baby clone) 2 forbidden fruit (baby clone) 1 mirage (big clone) 1 black jack (big clone) 1 blueberry muffins (baby clone) 1 grease monkey (baby clone) I have one more but I completely forgot what it was So I have a variety, which I know is going to make this whole journey more challenging instead of having the same one strain for a first time grow but fuck it. I think my wife is fukin tired of telling her “hey!!! Look at this!!” Every 15 minutes, so I figured I’d start a log with people who are as enthusiastic and passionate about this as I’m starting to be. Any advice is more than welcome, I know I probably left out a lot of information but I’ll be adding it as I go along or I’ll be answering questions as they come. So I remember the last strain, purple punch. Anyways, had to log into the actual website to upload pics so here we are. I separated the seedling since I don’t completely know it’s sex yet although it’s looking good and appears to be a female. One of my light fixtures came unloose and fell on top of my baby and some leaves were burned due to the heat so I started off my day in a sad way, although I’ll be tipping the seedling soon so the top growth won’t be an issue. Just hate seeing my baby like that
The condition that my 2 purple aliens and grease monkey were in, aka in sad condition. Luckily I was able to bring them back!
I’ve been learning as I go, as you can see a lot of my clones are in the process of recovering from wilting leaves, nutrient deficiency, etc. they’re looking good, making a comeback but damn it seems so slow, but what can you expect when you check on them every hour. The one that was doing amazing was my seedling, but now that the light fell on them and burned them a bit she has some ugly leaves on her too now *sigh* Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

Got home and checked on the girls, they seemed to do well as I see some new shoots and leaves growing from my smaller clones. My black jack and mirage (biggest plants) are also doing well, looks like they’re finally starting to fill out. Was the most worried about my seedling who had the light fall on her and burn some leaves but she looks great.. seems like she stretched out a bit while I was gone. You can see how on one side I trimmed one of the lower leaves so now there’s a gap, although that gives me a more clear look at all the inner leaves that were being blocked (they’ll get more light too, yay). I need to start topping some of my plants but I gotta do more research, I have a feeling my seedling is going to be bushy as heck and yuuuuggeee once she keeps growing! Gonna finish the night with a epsom salt foilar feed to help get some magnesium in them and perk those leaves up, and we’ll see what the morning brings. Any tips are more than welcome! 2 week update: it’s cool to see how much bigger they are from when I first started posting, time seems to stay still when you look at them every day but they have indeed gotten pretty big.. Ditched the CFLs and got myself a dimmable 600w ballast with an air cooled hood and they’re loving it, switched them over about 4-5 days ago. Started off with a 1000w hps/ballast but it was cooking my room and putting the a/c into overdrive so it really wasn’t worth the paranoia and extra costs to keep it running so I downgraded to a 600w. I’ll probably continue the veg phase until this month is over, after that I’ll be putting the 4 biggest plants into a tent to flip them to 12/12, and we’ll see what the next 2 months brings us Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
