  1. I am starting to plant in a strip about 10 feet wide along ibetween 2 tree lines.

I used a compase an the tree line goes from Southwest to Northwest (true north not magnetic)

I heard your not supose to grow in a south direction because the trees will block your sun. I was wondering if this is acceptable or could pose any problems.

  2. You want your plants to face south. Sun moves in an arc from North East to North West until August, and it traverses the sky in the south. So if your treeline is on the North end of a field, you're in the right place.
