Scientists today announced the discovery of an extraordinarily preserved "dinosaur mummy" with much of its tissues and bones still encased in an uncollapsed envelope of skin.

Preliminary studies of the 67-million-year-old hadrosaur, named Dakota, are already altering theories of what the ancient creatures' skin looked like and how quickly they moved, project researchers say.
Further investigations may reveal detailed information about soft tissues, which could help unlock secrets about the evolution of dinosaurs and their descendents, the scientists added.
For now, the team continues to examine the rare specimen, which included preserved tendons and ligaments, and to prepare scientific articles on the find for publication.
"This specimen exceeds the jackpot," said excavation leader Phillip Manning, a paleontologist at Britain's University of Manchester and a National Geographic Expeditions Council grantee. Most dinosaurs are known only from their bones, which are seldom found joined together as they would be in real life. But "we're looking at a three-dimensional skin envelope," Manning said. "In many places it's complete and intact-around the tail, arms, and legs and part of the body."

  4. It's Alive! AAAhahaha

  5. Now can a creationist tell me why they believe that the world was create donly 6,000 years ago?
I forgot, Satan planted this evidence!!! SCIENCE IS THE WORK OF THE DEVIL!!!

  6. I assume you wouldn't be open to hearing that, would you?

  7. Christians aren't the only one's who believe that science is the work of the devil... Well sorta.

Many Gnostic writings paint the material world as being evil, as the creation of an evil Monad to trap and confuse our souls. (Satan created the earth)

Obviously different writings give different points of view and I can see that you were generally poking fun at creationists, for their simple beliefs (and steadfast faith). But I think, 'a steadfast faith in a simple story and being offended at hearing a different one' doesn't have much to do with being a Christian, it has more to do with our desire for security.

Our society is trained on the desire for security when it comes to 'personal matters'. (Defining what a personal matter is, could be another essay by itself).

But anyways, whether you know it or not most people are walking around with a bubble of protective stories that they use to ward off complex thinking.

In my opinion, this bubble is automatically created when we contradict our selves. (thats why Jesus warns so heavily about hypocrisies). If we allow ourselves to be hypocritical about anything, we allow room for a dual set of ethics (or possibly more than dual), which allows us to justify all sorts of things, depending on our stand point in the situation.

Honestly these multiple personalities, that each of us has, is what is being talked about in the bible when they were talking about demons.

I know many of you are thinking that you don't have multiple sides to you. And maybe you don't. But my guess is that you have 'outlets' where you allow yourself to change and do things differently than you normally would. Now just in doing this, and exploring yourself, you can find out that there are many sides to you.

Just to give you an example of what i'm talking about, without multiple personalities you should be able to have a single code of ethics, or set of moral standards which applies to every situation which you encounter. This means, when you are with your home boys, when you are with your spouse, when you are at work and when your at school, and at church.

Obviously for most people this is completly impossible, because they are taught that when they are in church they must abide by a certain set of standards. Ie, can't wear hats, when praying, can't say fuck or other swears, must revere and honor God in every way possible, being the ultimate good part of us.

But then when we're with our 'home boys' we have to give our masculine side, where we are trying to make ourselves look like top dog. Then there is the side of us that we show to our girl, where we are very caring and loving.

At work this happens as well, for example, a company has many different faces. It will be overly supportive to its larger customers, almost ignore it's small customers, and be aggressive to it's competition.
