digital thermometer accurate?

  1. i have a $10 digital thermomter that also reads humidity. do you think it's giving me accurate temps while in direct light or whatever? don't know if this is a dumb question, but i know there are quite a few ways of reading temp.
  2. I just spent $20 myself on one. As faras your question, no its not accurate in direct light if im not mistaken. You want the ambient temp of the air, not the direct light, unless your trying to get the temp under the direct light. Try putting the probe somewhere indirect from the light, like above it or to the side. Above would be good considering heat rises, so you would record the max temps in your space.
  3. put it under something to keep it out of the light. If you have the cardboard thing a light bulb comes in, that's perfect to stick a thermometer in and stick wherever.
