well i was just wondering what peoples preferences are on the choice between these bulbs. the digilux is rated at 95k lumens @600 watts has a good light spectrum and about 30$ cheaper. the eye hortilux super is rated at 88k lumens at 600watts... how does the light spectrum compare?
any ideas?? ive read people stating that eye hortilux super is the best of the best but why is it that digilux also has a good wide spectrum of usable light but 7k lumens more for the same wattage?
Came across this thread doing a search and figured I would just post here also. I was just wondering the same question only in regards to the 1000w versions of each lamp. Is there anyone here that could give any kind of answers?
ive been using a digilux 600w but still havent had a comparison, when i upgrade my grow and pick up a flip box to have 2 flowering tents from 1 ballast.. im going to use the digilux in one and hortilux in the other.
When you do make sure to post your results. Having a real life comparison is always better than people bickering over numbers crunched on paper with no real world science to back it.
Also I don't see alot of people using the Digilux lamps anyways. I don't think it has as much to do with the quality of them as much as the Hortilux being whored out by every shop in town and being dirt cheap on the net.
Found this it's worth a view: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e_lEgacnH4]Hortilux Eye Super HPS Vs. Digilux HPS - 1000W Product Review & Test - YouTube[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edAAt4Ul4tI&feature=related[/ame]
I have two 600 watt hps lamps in my room. last grow I decided to pick up a digilux for one and a hortilux for the other. To see which one was better and honestly there was no dramatic difference either way. Both side produced huge rock hard buds. Great quality and yields!!
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't think there would be too much of a difference after watching all the videos. One thing That kind of made me take notice was the guys taking the readings from 2 feet away. I run my hoods about 12" away and that's still kind of far in my opinion. The readings weren't too different at the 24" mark so I would venture to say that at 12" they would be alot closer to each other.
