the v1, v2, and v3 differences are minor.
v1, which was the lm561c chip
v2, the lm301b chip. difference is approx 10% efficiency gain on the v2 over the v1
v3 , the lm301h chip. made specifically for horticulture use but not sure there is any real spectrum or effeminacy differences between the v2 and v3 chips. if so it's minor.

bottom line is all the chips will actually work well. the v3 is simply the newest chip. Value wise probably the V2 may be your best best right now although nothing wrong with the older v1 boards especially if you can get them cheap enough they would be a great value.

I personally would be more concerned about getting a board with a good overall spectrum rather than worring about whether it is a v1, v2, or v3 board.

  5. 100% agree. In real world scenario you'll never see the difference in v1 v2 or v3.

  6. Thanks for all the clarifications guys. Now 1 last question, which driver should I get to run 4 288s? Or is there a better route than those? I’m setting up my 8x8 tent. So I guess my real question is how would any of YOU set up qb lighting in there?

  7. Four 288 boards won't be anywhere close enough to flower an 8x8 area. It would do well in a quarter of that area (4x4). You will need about 16ish 288s for a 64 square foot area. But you can use part of your area I guess.

  8. Lol I guess I should have clarified. 4 288s would be for a 4x4 yes. But is there a better route to light a quarter of the tent? And I would obviously apply that to the other 4x4 sections. Sorry for the confusion. I just really don’t want to run 4 hps and fight heat etc.

  9. I run 2 on a 320h 54b hlg. I hooked up my own dimmer, I feel it offers better control Vs. the A version driver with the dimmer installed if it broke for w/e reason you are fucked. I run the 288's dimmed to 100watts each because of heat they produce at max is more than I can deal with in the summer. You can flower a 4x4 with 4 288's if you run them at full power but 6 dimmed is what the recommdned route would be.
