This could be seen as overly simple - however - at least to some extent - this difference is seemingly valid and can allow one to distinguish between 'awake' and 'dream' I am posting this at least for those who are unable to distinguish the difference between awake and dream this is based on my experience relatively - with regard to 'awake' - your awake experience begins with your eyes closed and you must open your eyelid to experience lit relatively - with regard to 'dream' - your dream experience begins with your eyes already open experiencing lit thus awake requires some effort / initiative / action to be able to experience 'lit' dream is without requiring much effort / initiative / action to be able to experience 'lit' thus : with regard to dream - awake seems to require more effort with regard to awake - dream seems to require less effort there could be more to it - however this post states a simple and valid difference between them
Not really. Bang a table and if you hear a loud noise you're awake, if it completely shatters then you're dreaming
You mean reality tests?: Example Reality Tests Changed Appearance Look at your hands – are there extra, missing, or disfigured fingers? Look at a mirror – do you look normal? Touch your hair – does it suddenly seem longer or shorter than it should? Superpowers Try to fly or levitate – jump off the ground see how long you remain off the floor Try teleporting – close your eyes, imagine yourself somewhere else, and open Try breathing with both your nose and mouth closed – can you still breath? Telekinetic Abilities Try turning off lights with your mind – close and open your eyes to see the results If you’re outdoors in daylight, try making the sun set with your mind Close your eyes and imagine a sandwich appearing in front of you – open your eyes source: Reality Tests - A Common Lucid Dreaming Technique | Lucid Dream at Dreampush
yeah I suppose I was aiming near to 'reality' test or similar I think some of those difference have occurred with me I continue to believe though there is definitely something to be found with the requirement of having to open your eyes when you are 'awake' if you want to experience lit
