Difference Between a Bong and a Bubbler?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by ksnug66, Oct 22, 2011.

  1. Both bongs and bubblers pull smoke from the bowl, through water to cool the hit and then to the mouthpiece. the difference is that bongs bull air to clear the smoke from an opening made from removing the bowl while bubblers have a carb to clear the smoke and bring in air

  2. Not necessarily. Some bongs have carb holes (here's a couple of examples), in addition to or instead of, the removable slide/bowl.

  3. Let's get mechanical and reverse engineer the two devices: bong and bubbler. bong is techincally a "water pipe." Most stand tall on a level base with a bottom for styles of beaker or flask. Inhalation is chambered and "beamed up" like fuckin scotty to the outerspaces. bubbler is a handheld bowl much more portable than a larger water pipe. No pullout slide, one piece build. These aren't technical specs but differences I saw being high already.
