what if theres no right and wrong but just what you choose to do if you choose to do it its just because youre an individual. so why can they say whats right and wrong? nothings wrong and nothings right we should just do whatever the fuck we want and if the government doesnt like it then they should deal with it
right and wrong are human creations, and therfor they do exist only in humans.. if u dont think theres a right or a wrong then ur not human, your a psychopath (literally) the fact that humans have a forebrain (what allows us to have reasoning) is what seperates us from animals (that and opposable thumbs, and that we're bipeds), so without right and wrong your an animal
Wrong and right are all based on personal opinions and experiences. But society has been pushing what is "wrong" and "right" on us since forever, but when you think about it, "wrong" and "right" can really only be determined by oneself. IMHO. Basic summarization at least.
Actually, right and wrong can be condensed down to you scratch my back, I scratch yours for the egotistical, and the golden rule of doing to others as you want them to do to you for the more communal of us. And we as a species are not alone in that form of thinking. All social animals got some equivalent of it.
i sorta see what you mean ... life wouldnt be filled with many "emotional consequences" ... it would be a much more relaxed place and very unique. you may have worded it slightly "immature" as a previous poster thought ... but it's still understandable on where you're coming from...
Evil and Good are the same choice, but with two different outcomes.. its like sides on a coin, they are different but the same coin..
To me it seems important that most people have a sense of "right and wrong". A world full of psychopaths would not be a much more relaxed place.
ethics (what is 'right' and what is 'wrong') are in the eyes of the beholder. although when we speak of a modern society, majority does rule (the government) only because they have the authority..
but would we really be psychopaths if we werent forced to think someone was a psychopath for doing what they truly believe is right, even if its wrong to the majority of people. like if when we were born nobody ever told us what was right and what was wrong but instead let us do what our brains told us to do would we really consider anyone a psychopath? we would consider them normal which is the way it should be why do scientists have the right to classify you based on your thoughts? like if there were just laws against murder, robbery, etc. but other than that you could do whatever you felt like doing i think the world would be a much more peaceful place
The big question here is whether morality is objective or subjective. If morality was subjective, my choice to kill someone over choosing to talk with them would be analogous to my choice of a rock music over rap music. If morality was objective, then my choice to not kill someone is as "right" as 1+1=2. Now it is easy to sit there and tell me that if someone taught you killing is right you would have no problem doing it. Imagine yourself in that position right now rather than hypothetically speaking it. Would you really go out and kill someone? There are certain issues which cross the borderline of objective and subjective ethics (abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment), but with the issues on the extrema (murder, rape, etc.), is there really any subjectivity to it? If you look deep deep down into your primal intuitions, could you tell me that these ethical values have any subjectivity to them? I don't believe so.
Keep the company of those who seek the truth, and run away from those who already know it. Good and bad are concepts, nothing more. You can do something that is conceptually good but feel horrible about it and vice versa. So really it doesn't matter if what you are doing is good or bad, the feeling(s) behind it are what will give you that conceptual good or bad emotion.
If nobody ever told me what was right and what was wrong, I wouldn't consider people "psychopaths", only because I wouldn't know the word. I would still notice that some people have no ability to empathize with other humans or feel remorse when they harm others. And I would still stay the fuck away from those people. Everyone has the "right" to classify anything based on whatever the hell they want. Classification is just a thought. Now, do scientists have the right to take all the people they classify as psychopaths and throw them in jail? No. But that's a totally different issue. All I'm saying is that if most humans lacked a direct apprehension of morality (i.e. were psychopaths), humanity would be fucked. Most of us have this direct apprehension of morality for a very good reason: natural selection favored it. It's good for the species.
