Did weed kill your memory after the first time?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by rob0222, Aug 25, 2012.

1. So my first time smoking was with 5 people. We all pitched in and bought a quarter of dank and smoked it all through an air-tight PVC pipe bong with a glass bong slide as the mouth piece (my friend is really crafty when it comes to bongs). We smoked it all and i still remember how intense the high was. The next day I woke up and I saw a direct difference in the way I think. I feel like its easier to day dream now, and it's like my short term memory blows now, and it doesn't get any worse when I smoke now adays. I feel like since i smoked so much for my first time, I might have damaged my brain 0_o Anyone else feel the same way? A friend of mine also confirmed a difference after the first time he smoked. I'm not saying its necessarily a terrible thing, but it's just that there's an obvious difference. It's been over a year and it hasn't gotten better, and I only smoke not even once a week now.

2. lol you didnt damage your brain you probably just continued to smoke... so its continually a little worse

3. Don't worry about it, you probably coincidentally got a brain tumor at the same exact time.

4. I know what you mean man, It's like a haze, but I enjoy it I just feel permanately high now :smoke:

5. I've never experienced permanent memory issues lol.... course I forget shit while high, but if I'm sober, no issues...

6. If I smoke heavily I can get a bit hazy and feel a bit strange for a while but other than that I would not say I feel like I have had any permanent memory loss.

7. For the first year that I smoked consistently the memory issues were absolutely terrible, at the time in school it was a pretty big downside for me. But then just over time all that shit went away, and now I dont feel that cannabis hinders my memory at all.

8. i can't remember

9. PVC pipe?? Ewwww.....

10. hahaha last night... I was going to say something about something me and my buddy were talking about and when I went to say what I was going to say I forgot it. Then in the midst of trying to remember what I was going to say about what we were talking about, we totally forgot what the fuck we were talking about. Never remembered what I was gonna say either.

Sorry for the vague story, but I forgot :D

11. probably just the nice pvc chemicals in your body

12.
probably just the nice pvc chemicals in your body
Beat me to it

13. i dont remember xD

14. when I first started like the 1st month of serious smoking, I couldn't remember shit. The week before would all turn into one day and I wouldn't have a clue. But now I'm fine. Just my brain adapting to a new substance.

15. What you're probaly expericing is what many if not all smokers feel one point in their life, and that's depersonalization ( i think ) where you kinda feel like you're watching yourself in a movie

16. I'm just more forgetful when im high but if im not theres no difference!

17. No, I didn't notice any lasting effect after my first time smoking. I returned to baseline real quick. Granted, I never smoke a lot of weed in one sesh, but I always go back to my normal consciousness.

My working memory is bad because of my ADHD anyway, so I honestly do not notice much of a difference when I'm high. Yeah, my symptoms do get worse when I'm stoned, but only a bit. I don't know, I just don't care anymore about forgetfulness and bad working memory, they've been a part of my life ever since I can remember. That's what it means to have ADHD and a mild case of Asperger's syndrome...

18. I think you have convinced yourself that you have brain damage because of all the propaganda that people hear about weed. Look up the placebo effect, it's amazing what you can convince yourself of out of pure paranoia. And here is a little article to make you feel better (New Study Proves That Marijuana Increases Brain Cell Formation | BudFacts.com)

19. Cannabis use has no long term effect on memory.

Only while you are under the influence will your short term memory.

Then again maybe you just fried your brain with the pvc pipe. Your friend may be crafty, but he's also an idiot

20. Lmao thanks for the support :bongin: and guys it was brand new piping with a glass bowl from a broken bong, I just didn't feel like explaining lolol. It's probs not permanent damage, however there is a difference in the way I think. I just thought I'd Mention it to see if anyone felt the same way :)
