Did it become a hermie?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by auralgasm, Feb 21, 2011.

  1. I have this male Royal Hash that I've been growing. Since it's male, I decided that I will experiment with this plant. I cut the top off, wanted to see how compact I can grow it. Well, today I noticed something odd, looks like calyx. Did my male turn into a hermie? If so, will the flowers produce smokable bud?
    Thanks.

WTF??? Male to hermie? Are you sure it was a male to begin with, and not a hermie all along? Cuz those are definitely beautiful white hairs. I am amazed.

Oh and unless you trim all those balls off, you're going to simply get a bunch of seeds with a theoretically higher chance of producing more hermie plants. Oh aaaaaaand it will pollinate any nearby plants too. So. Be warned.

  3. Males definitely can hermie. We rarely see it because as soon as most of us find a male we yank it, never giving it time to hermie. But very possible.

  4. I've been plucking all the pollen balls, but I'll leave the female flowers. Curious to see how this will turn out.

This is what it looked like about a week ago.

  5. Good point toasty. Now that I think of it, won't the seeds produced be "masculinized" as opposed to feminized?
