I was considering buying one of those stealth desktop pc case growing systems to fund my personal consumption, but my friend is telling me that it won't yield enough since the space is so confined. I don't need to produce much, but he swears it still won't be adequate. Does anyone have any figures for what one of these can realistically produce? Gracias, xhalo
using the SOG method and the rite lighting and ventilation.... with 4 regular computer cases you can probably get a harvest every 3-4 weeks.
Just a single computer case would probably yield a half ounce or so if done correctly. Order some lowryder seeds or any other strain thats bred to grow outwards. The only problem is heat, and you'll definately need ventilation so that kind of knocks the stealthness out of it.

Well it sounds like this would be your first grow, and chances are if you did pursue this you'd get alot less than a half O. I'd expect a quarter of some decent bud for a first grow in a computer case. Its very possible to get an ounce or so in one of those, but it takes time.
$650?!?! are you out of your mind?!?! you can find plans online that tell you exactly what to buy and give you detailed instructions on how to build one for about $100 total, it wont be as fancy but just as productive, and maybe a little more usefull. I personally wouldnt, for about 30$ get yourself a simple wooden cabinet at lowes, stick it in a closet or somewhere unseen and build up a nice grow box in it. PC grows are a waste of time, in the same amount of effort and a little more room you can grow normal sized plants for nice harvests.
All great points, I guess I liked the PC case because I didn't really have to do any work. I'm more into cars, then carpentry. Now I'm not sure what to do
MDF from what I recall is pretty good with handling heat. 'Cause a lot of those amps get pretty hot.. You should look into it. Could even put some cheap shallow mount subs in it for the stealth effect.

I've been doin alot of research for my PC grow which i'll hopefully get fully underway within the next two weeks(tryin to get a job still lol) and will be posted on here and on ICmags micro sections http://www.icmag.com/ic/forumdisplay.php?f=65545 They've got alot of guys who have built cases with very great results, i have still yet to even plant my first seed and i've been reading for a while trying to figure out how to do it effeciently, and those guys have alot of ingenious ideas.
