I did a quick search for 'desert' and then 'desert island' and came up with nothing pertaining to what I'm talking about here. So, if it's been done before, let me know and I'll delete this and post there instead. Did you remember hearing a DJ on the radio, back in the days when FM wasn't so commercial, and the DJ would have you phone in your choice of Desert Island Discs and he would play them. What are Desert Island Discs? They're the discs you would want to have with you if you were ever stranded on a desert island. As if you were somehow stranded with just the bare necessities and you had a choice of music to listen to. Okay. Not the most inspiring of scenarios, but you get the idea. The DJ would take your top 5 requests and play them in order of preference. Since we're not playing the songs here, we'll up the number to 10. If you were stranded on a desert island and only had 10 albums to listen to during your final days, which 10 albums would you choose to have? I'll post mine as soon as I reconstruct the updated list I made years ago.
Herewith a list of the albums that I would absolutely have to have with me if I were stranded on a desert island, in no particular order: Queen's Night At The Opera Steve Miller Band's Fly Like An Eagle Fleetwood Mac's Fleetwood Mac (their first with Lindsay and Stevie, 1975) Steely Dan's Aja Peter Frampton's Frampton Comes Alive Annie Lennox's Medusa (great covers of some oldies) Tears For Fears' Songs From The Big Chair Joe Jackson's Night & Day Everything But The Girl's Idyllwild *Seal's SEAL
