Dense bud?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by httreadskins, Sep 13, 2012.

  1. Sup blades you know how some bud is more denser then others hence one sack being smaller then the other due to weight. But the thing I'm realizing is that isn't bud that's less dense better?

Like when you roll a blunt when you pack it with denser bud you have to put in more. So actually my question is, whenever you get fluffier bud is it better? Because you obviously have more then the denser bud?

  2. Well, if you put more dense bud in a blunt, you will get higher because of the THC concentration...I see what you're saying, but it takes less dense bud to get high. I personally do prefer fluffier buds though.

  3. Drugs, pretty much all drugs, are measured in weight. Weed in grams, same with most powders. In drug tests they test for ng/ml. nano grams of the drug per milliliters of urine, or blood. What I'm trying to say is, size doesn't matter, weight and potency do. Fluffier buds usually just have more air between the plant matter, while since denser buds do not by definition.

If I have a gram of the same bud, one is dense and one is fluffy, they will both get me equally as high.

  4. What? You don't have more. They are both the same amount. The whole point of weighing it is because you can't actually tell how much you have just by looking at it....

  5. Those were words I was trying to find for my post. Thank you reiterating the point.

  6. Dude it's the same if you grind a gram of dense bud it will be just as much as fluffy bud you wouldn't have to put more in the blunt

  7. No there's no actual difference in the amount of weed you have. That's why it's weighed for sale. Fluffier buds look like more but you smoke through it much faster. Dense buds are harder to break up finely by hand to roll with, but there's the same amount of cannabis in both scenarios.

  8. I love dense buds because
1 I rarely roll it up
2 breaks down nice and finee
3 I hate when I break down a good size bud and the product is hardly any bud lol

  9. denser buds make me feel like i have more weed if im rationing, rip off a nug and it chops out heaps

  10. Which weighs more, a ton of rocks or a ton of feathers?

  11. Trick question; which ton smokes best in a blunt?

  12. you like smokin crack or feathers? the choice is yours and yours alone!

  13. I understand what OP is trying to say. Imagine you had super-light plant matter, covered in trichomes, there would be more trichomes in a bag than heavy and dense plant matter because there would be less surface area and plant matter for them to grow on. Although dense buds do break up and would look similar in size if both were grinded..

  14. Where I used to live it seemed like the dense bud was danker than the fluffy, mayb cuz it was more indica

  15. i think denser buds tend to be indica, while "fluffier" buds are more often sativa dominant. but i don't know if that's actually true, i'm just going by the buds i've gotten (which aren't medical).

  16. Well you'd generally be correct.

Also I grind all my shit so regardless of how it went in, it pretty much looks the same afterwards. I do prefer denser nugs though, no real reason for it. It's just kinda cool seeing a little rock of a nug in front of you that's no bigger than a marble, but knowing that it's gonna get you stoned as fuck like 4+ times haha.

  17. Yeah the comments about Indica being more dense and Sativa fluffier is a good guideline. Although the high grade sold in a lot of places could be a hybrid dominant to either one and you wouldn't notice since a lot of times it's vacuum sealed for transportation, squishing possibly fluffy buds into dense buds.

With my homegrown I tend to have much fluffier buds than commercial and I attribute that to the fact that it's being not being compressed. I can take a sativa dominant strain and squish a fluffy bud into a little rock but I feel like it kind of ruins it.

  18. Whats heavier, a kg of lead or a kg of cotton wool?

    Nothing, they weigh the same.

False. True sativa are naturally fluffier but indica buds can also be fluffy if grown to far from their light source. This is a VERY common reason for airy buds. And just for the record, any high quality herb should never be compressed. We're not growin Mexican Brick weed! At least I'm not!

  20. dense budd busts out more, but the busted weed is still denser, it'll get you higher for what looks like less but you will go through it faster
