Take a bath with distilled water and you'll be fine; however you're likely using tap water which is really conductive. All those sodium ions and other metals present in minute amounts are what make that water conductive. Pure water is strikingly un-conductive. but yes... That is a bad idea. Perhaps you could place it upon a box, stool, child, or chair next to the bathtub. Just keep a towel beside you to wipe your hands with so you can periodically submerge yourself fully in the tub.
