Deleafing 2nd wk of flower (GDP)

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by Lanes420allday, Jul 1, 2020.

  1. Been really experimenting with this grow to see how far I could push the stress, etc. Just deleafed wk 2 into flower. Here's what I'm working with:
    - grand daddy purp
    - 4x8 tent
    - 2(600watt) GPS cool tubes
    - 10 gal ppost x5
    - Happy frog soil
    - fox farm nutes
I've also been using unsulphured organic molasses to feed the live microbes and the plants seem to be loving it. Lemme know if you got any questions.

  3. Defoliation has since been a long debate pros and cons its good to expose light to you lower tops but taking too much is detrimental to plant health and plants ability to store enough nutrients becomes less and less you have taken allot by looks of pic please tell me you did not take them all at once.

  7. I’ve seen a very few guys do it with success as well mac.

Could be genetics or feeding regime related I just never tried cause it makes the plant look so damn bare ahhaha.

  8. So my theory is more light penetration and air flow thru the canopy of the plant. I'll post another pic in a week or so to see the update.

  10. Nope I slowly did it 1 week before flower, 1 week into flower and then one last time at week 2 of flower. I actually did a whole grow journal on this grow that I'll post once I harvest.

  11. [IMG]

After 50 years of growing the herb I've gone back to how I grew all those years ago. All natural. Like some 70s porn, all bushy. :)
They will shed what leafs they want as they finish. No need for me to do a damn thing at this point but keep my hands off.
Plants are sun powered machines. The leafs are their solar panels. Do the math yourself.
Use more LITFA (leave it the fuck alone).
In general the less I mess with them the bigger the yield.

  12. When your growing outdoors yes I totally agree. Indoors, not so much.

  13. I defoliate a few days before flower. Then around week 3 in flower.

I'll say its not quite to this extent. I'm interested in the results. Looks like a lot of stress but only time will tell

  15. Here's my lady in a 3g. Fox farm soil. Earthdust dry amendments.

First two pics are 2 days after a defoliate just before the switch to 12/12

Last pic is 12 days from the switch to 12/12. Today is day 14 of 12/12. I'll start pulling fans for the next few days and that'll be it

  17. Ready to get my 10x27' man cave built so I can get in some raised beds and out of the cramped 2x4 lol. I thought the 4x4 was small i used to grow in. This 2x4 is a big change.

All personal use so I plan to run a 4 plant 2 weeks apart perpetual setup in 3g pots until my man cave is built and I can move my grow in to the mancave

  19. Yeah it's got a few names for it, it's all about trial and error. I'm just trying to master this craft before I go commerical with my own grow. I did a grow journal on this one I slowly did this over about a span of 3 weeks, 1 week before flower then week 1 and 2.
