I got it in my head that I would grow these two (auto/fem...mimosa, I think?) with varying degrees of training to see if I might be better off letting some of my plants get to full height. I have the space.
    • The plant on the LEFT was pruned, lightly defoliated, and opened up a little bit with minimal LST.
    • The plant on the RIGHT got more aggressive LST and was thinned out repeatedly up to early flower.

The lack of leaf on the upper kolas at present is not intentional defoliation. I lost some leaves to heat stress and I reused this soil too many times...point being, all other things are not necessarily equal. But it seems to me that, with artificial light, there's no clear benefit, outside of the novelty of that huge center kola. Which is a lovely novelty. But, in terms of yield...seems like the plant that had less training did put on more bulk; but I'm not sure there will be a huge difference in yield. And the height makes the lowers tough to light adequately. But IDK, I have no means of judging yield. What do you think?

Both plants sprouted in May and have been in flower since mid june

  2. Nice frigging plants. Harvest and weigh

  3. Your plants look really good.

I use manipulation techniques in all grows Auto or photo.
You have nice looking Colin's on all your plants.

I got to ask a question though are those buds dank or hard?

I like the breeder that you used. The only problem I have with all the auto's I've grown is that the buds are not dank. I have yet to have one come out with hard buds. That's a quality that people look for.
I'm looking for a strain of autos that has the best qualities.

Aroma, the quality of high or Municipal purposes, taste, quality of what they see when they look at it, and last but not least dankness or how hard a bud is. And very last but not least for the grower yield and quality of the yield.

These are all qualities that I'm sure you look for? I know I look for and almost everybody I've ever dealt with look for.

  4. The first time I got buds that big I lost some to bud rot during drying. I didn't break down the largest cola's into smaller pieces and the largest ones rotted from inside out. Just a FYI.

  5. Thank you for that. Not an experience I wanna replicate for sure.

My super-cropped colas (crush and bend) always produce bigger colas. Recently, my heaviest and tallest indoor tomato vines broke and fell over. Those broken (and self repaired) stems are producing better and bigger fruit than the unadulterated stems.

In the weed tent, I crushed some of the stems to monitor the vigor and yield compared to un touched stems.
