Hey guys, we're growing in 6" by 6" rockwools in a 4' by 4' tray with a 1,000 watt Gavita HPS 2 feet above them. We are using emerald harvest as our nutrients and have been experimenting with our water cycles to find out what way would be the best for to avoid underwatering and overwatering. They're in 18/6 so we only water them twice. Once 2 hours after the lights come on and once 2 hours before the lights turn off. But a few are showing some shorts of deficiency or at least were before we changed nutrients for late veg. Does anyone know what a few of these symptoms might be? The structure of the leaves look... interesting. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Probably root bound in that 6in cube, as you're air pruning the roots. Possibly over watering. What's your pH? 1000watt on 100%?
All those red stems makes me think ca/mg issues - or another issue like root disease that's causing them to not take up nutes.
Agreed. Those 6" cubes are great for getting a plant started, but for a big plant you'll want a much bigger root mass. Those cubes need to be plated into a bigger container. Unless you want to keep them small for some reason. Also, those clear lines - if you haven't noticed already - will grow algae and clog up with it. Replace it with 1/4" black opaque lines and that issue is gone.
