Awesome, so when I'm just planting the seed, does the water need to be able to touch the bottom of the pot with the stones, or do I need to be watering it until the roots are long enough to reach the water?
I never watered mine.... I kept my rockwool cube / medium with the sprout/seed in it about 3inches from the bottom of the net.... During the "seedling" stage I just raise the water in my buckets until it touches the bottom of the bucket... With air stone (given enough air) the water will look like a roaring boil... this is enough splashing of water to water your seedling until the roots grow... once they are long enough drop the water level down to an inch or so below the pot
Cool, is the pot too submerged if half of it is in the water? but its just touching the bottom of the rockwool
Yes.... I have the water at the very bottom of my pot... the bubbles and hydroton get the water where it needs to be....
